HI all,
was wondering if you could offer me some advice. My family are currently living in Ireland but with the economy the way it is at the moment we are barely making ends meet.I am a carpenter by trade but have also just finished my degree. Canada looks like it has good prospects for us as jobs in this area are plentiful.I have a few questions mostly about money. Doing my research the average wage is 50-60 thousand dollars which is about 30-40 thousand euros.Which considering the rent in Canada wont go far. we will also be paying a mortage in Ireland even though its a small mortage(Houses in Ireland not selling). Will we be able to have a comfortable standard of living in Canada as that is our main reason at looking to relocate. If budget in december is a hard as last few we cant afford to stay but we dont want to jump into an even worse situation. We also would like to know whats a good area for young familys to move too? seems to be a lot of work around Regina area.

A piece of advice...

Don't come to Canada with no job offer. Make sure that when you arrive in Canada, you already have a job waiting for you. Also, don't quit your work in Ireland because you can never know what will happen in Canada.

Hi Sean

Make out a resume using the tool on the Canada Visa home page. Then start looking at sites suck as saskjobs.ca, totaljobs, jobbank, NBjobs.ca and apply for as many jobs as you can. Also look at some of the nominee programs that the provinces have. All infor can be found on http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index-can.asp
Good luck and there are good people on this forum who can help you.

Plan thoroghly please. I guess the taxation is close to 40% in most provinces or close thereof. I heard from a Canadian friend Quebec plans to raise this close to 50% some day soon >:(
