Why would IRCC slow down? They are not taking day-by-day directions from the government. The only thing I see happening after the election is to make employees go back to offices, as Sept. 20 is the deadline for all federal workers to get vaccinated. I hope they follow through with this. The minister has all the effect. I saw a TV interview with the current minister of immigration, and he dodged every single question about the delays.
Well someone wrote in September 2019 thread that they had contact with an Ircc officer and he said lots of ircc employees are being shifted to process Afghan refugees that Canada committed to take in 2 years now has to be processed in 2 weeks.
So sit back and relax so we can make Afghan refugees great again.
Another reason for IRCC's administrative and routine functions to be outsourced to private service providers like VFS or BLS. They are far from perfect, but service levels can be contractually mandated, and can't use COVID or Afghanistan or something else as an excuse. This will free up resources for the government to devote to situations like Afghanistan.
Not privatization. VFS or BLS do all the grunt work, and final decision rests with IRCC.
No, i think they need to open more offices and hire people on merit that can actually do the work instead stay home and get free money.

Got my IRCC ATIP notes. Nothing new. Many pages were redacted. I Should have requested CBSA notes instead.
One thing I noticed, for the location of my paper file, under Scarbrough citizenship operation it used to say Location: "Registry"; now it says Location: "NOT CLEARED". Does anybody know what this means?
Besides that, my Knowledge, Residence, Language, Prohibition all "not started" i.e. they've been sitting on their bums for the past 2.5 years. There's not a single date in my notes for 2021!
on the tracker, it says my background check is complete, but I cannot see that in my notes.
and Finally, there was a ghost update on the new tracker yesterday September 13. I don't know what to make of it.

Atleast you got your Gcms notes for me they keep sending the same bot reply BS we are waiting for information from one of our offices due to covid 19 crap. They now delaying to 60 days if your order gcms second time.
Yeah, that sucks. I honestly don't know what's going on anymore; nothing makes sense. and now I am stressed about this NOT CLEARED location of my files. which doesn't make any sense since my BG is complete and my RCMP screening is also clear.
I ordered CBSA notes on Sep.5. I will wait and see what that says.
you need to see when was your file touched last time or when any update was done . Not Cleared could be related to many things. You can try contacting them to ask what is this Not Cleared status ? CBSA GCMS will take atleast 60 days.
I called. they are still dealing with the situation in Afghanistan and cannot answer regular calls. She said they might start answering calls again next week
