I sponsored my husband in January 2010 from Quebec, Canada. I got a reply from CIC January 27 2010 that they are in receipt of my application.
CIC started processing my file March 15, 2010
Islamabad started processing our file April 27, 2010 (letter said they will contact us within 9 months)
Supplementary forms were completed and sent to Islamabad May 1 2010
I emailed Islamabad for a status update and they replied " your file is currently in the queue for the intial review " each time I enquired I got this generic message which broke my heart. I am so upset I have not seen my husband since December 27 2010, it is so painful especially that we could not be together for our first wedding anniversary October 29, 2010.
Immigration should understand how difficult this process it for couples to live apart for such a long time.
Quebec Immigration even sent me an approval in April 2010, I sent the Quebec Selection Certificate to my husband and a copy to Islamabad but nothing seems to work.
By the way, my brother got married 2 weeks after me and has also sponsored his wife from Lahore 1 month after me.
Husbands or Wives, immigration processing times should be equal and fair. Canada always speaks out on equalism then why differences in this????
Is there any other way to speed this process up? Can our local MP help? Please advise ... thank you!
