Alhamdulillah !!! My wife has received her passport back with PR visa
She was in Canada on TRV and sent her passport to Ottawa for visa issuance. The passport with visa was received back in 3 weeks. Also, you can either re-enter Canada as PR or go to local CIC office to get the status changed.
I am a March 2013 applicant by the way. Good luck to you all and I pray that you re-unite with your spouses in the new year.

I was quite excited that after waiting for 6.5 years we received medical request for my mother last week but after browsing many threads on this forum it looks like many applicants had to do medicals twice because it took exceptionally long for CHC to process their case.
We applied for her sponsorship in July, 2008 . It was transferred to Islamabad in early 2012 and we received Medical Request last week. She is already living here in Canada for years on parent visa but it will be nice if they finalize her immigration case in 2015.

Both but first send them by mail and wait until they get your mail. Then wait another 10 days to see they response or not. If yes then well and good if not then send everything by email with delivery receipt which will be signed by office employee and also write a note that you have sent them requested documents and your office has received those documents on this date and copy of delivery receipt has been attached inn. Good Luck
