Dear,

What was your impression about the person answering, was he a Local Staff? because I called them yesterday and the guy was a local guy and he said WE ARE NOT ON STRIKE, now I don't know if he was talking about LOCAL STAFF on Strike or the High Commission in General, it is always confusing :-/
My husband called embassy few days ago, that guy also said that isb embassy was not on strike but when he asked about PAFSO members then the guy said, Yes they are on strike >:(

if there exist any single PAFSO union members in Islamabad then they must be on strike

we need to find these information to make sure that CHC Islamabad are not effected by Strike

Read the 6th paragraph
As of Thursday, 80 to 100 foreign service officers had walked off the job in Canada and postings around the world including Delhi, Hong Kong, Mexico City, Manila, Paris, London, Riyadh, Ankara, Moscow, Warsaw, Singapore and Islamabad. Edwards said the union is trying to coordinate rotating strikes strategically, in order to have the strongest effect.

Yes, like many members having been stating CHC Islamabad is offically on strike. Passport with Visa have come to a dead stop. The Pakistani officials are still working. However, the Canadian foreign Officials are denying to provide their services. This strike will create a massive backlog for many visa offices around the world. That being said pakistan is already at 31 months, in the quarterly update there are no chance of decrease in sight. Many people are saying since may no passport have come back. They are about 3-4 months back already. Quarterly update looking at 35 months?.

About a week after receiving the Remed by email. My wife received Pak Mail from CHC-I. It contained a hard copy of the Medical forms to be given to the doctor (same form she got in the original email) also they requested she send an updated police clearances and also asked for copies of my passport pages showing enter/exit stamps for my visits to pakistan.

Good news isnt in Chc's dictionary..they should receive an award for consistant manhoosat and inefficiency..

This is seriously disheartening, while the media and gov't keep us busy with whether they inhaled pot or not, and whether a sikh can play soccer with a turban. Our families are under more tension then any reasonable person should have to bare. The interesting thing is, many of us got engaged and were planning our weddings back when the timeline was 8 months, then I remember it suddenly switch to 18 and thought to myself wow it will be tough but we can manage. Now the timeline is at 31 months (more likely 36 months) how does one plan for this??

Expensive trips back home, thats how.

When people started getting remeds/ppr starting May it was looking good for everyone, but now with this strike its back to square one [not the one in Mississauga].

Did they ask for updated forms, such as Imm0008 for example?
