what is the minimum income eligibility to sponsor my spouse as PR?

Currently, there is no minimum income requirement to sponsor a spouse. It does not affect the sponsorship itself. However, you are not eligible to sponsor if you receive financial assistance from the government, such as Ontario Works.

You can find more information here:

http://www.settlement.org/sys/faqs_detail.asp?faq_id=4000444

For information from CIC, check out these links:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/spouse-apply-who.asp#sponsoring

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/spouse.asp

I hope this information is helpful.

A question.....

If on ecas....the Sponsorship Application process changed from decision made to in-process does that mean that someone may have actually opened the file? Also, when does the status under Permanent Residence Application status change....is that when you get you PPR?

It's just one of 'dem days where I wish I had answers....life chalos, but knowing what is going on with life would be kind of nice.

Bro, keep in mind this will not change very often, The only status updates you will see will be very general. First status shows Application Received and then Application started processing, followed by medical received and at last decision made when your passport is stamped with visa or GOD forbid a refusal letter. These statuses are sometimes updated on time and other times they are delayed so the ECAS is not very reliable source of information.

one ways are ridiculously expensive. one way cost us $1600, and return ticket returning on the same flight cost us $1700 .. go figure! lol

I found this in the 2011 thread once for sending additional info and saved it:

Immigration Section, Canada High Commision Canada
Diplomatic Envlave, Sector g-5. Islamabad Pakistan

However, if your file is in Ottawa, it might be just best to scan and send the stuff to Ottawa instead so they can add it to your file. You might be able to scan it to Islamabad too but I'm not sure about that. Maybe the other members can help me out on that point?
