Salam brothers and sisters,

plz help me.

my wife case started in Aug 2010. Remedical is done on Sep-05, 2012. Islamabad office asked for the passport in Nov and Nov 12, 2012 passports were sent. but at that time they told my wife that they are still waiting for medical results.

they are still waiting for medical results till Jan 03,2013.

my question here is that at IOM islamabad, my wife DID NOT recieve any paper in return except a receipt for the fee.

i have heard of this IMM1017 form. was my wife suppose to get any paper from IOM islamabad?

plz help what to do.

thanks

Salam All, I am new here but not new to this frustrating and reeking spousal sponsorship process which takes up to 28months now.

I wanted to share this with all of you that I had contacted my local MP office who told me that Mr. Jason Kenny was in Pakistan early January 2013 to talk to the authorities and see how this whole process can be streamlined to cut down the processing time but his meetings were cancelled due to Qadri's sit in protest which paralyzed isb for good 3-4 days. So Mr. Kenny came back fruitless as all his meetings with local officials were cancelled.

He also showed me a personal note from Mr. Kenny that soon he will have some good news about processing times from Islamabad but since there was no productive work done in ISB, guess no good news, hence the 28months now.

I wrote an email today to the high commissioner of Pakistan in Ottawa asking him what he has or can do to address this issue.

I agree with you guys to unite and send our queries/complaints to the immigration ministry in ottawa and also mobilize our media in Pakistan.

One voice, one goal....May Allah help us all, Ameen.

So Jason Kenney is on Twitter

And seems like alot of people have tweeted to him about CHC-I to which he has responded:

Guys, I urge you to tweet him, addressing him as "Honorable sir" asking about the 28 month Islamabad timeline and what is being done to decrease it.

Join me in for the Alberta one as well.

How many people do we have in Toronto and GTA area. I am also getting involvded in our company's initiative in engaging political leadership in different areas of interest and guess what I chose....yes thats right! Immigration. Here is the quoted response from the person leading this initiative.

"Welcome aboard!!

As we start to get a bit of a grass roots movement underway, this is exactly the type of feedback that we’re looking for – what are the issues / policy areas people want to engage in and how / where / what are the forums for us as individuals to get engaged.
I’ll be thinking about how we can create a community of interest around political engagement at large. Immigration is a huge policy area and immensely important on many different fronts. Have you spent any time yourself talking with your MP / MPP on newcomer sponsorship and settlement ideas? Are you interested in getting involved in forums (either through think tanks or other venues) that are exploring policy issues around immigration?

Let me know and I’ll see if I can help."

So I am definitely going to take part in it and take it to the highest levels to make sure that CIC fixes this. I can tell you this much if one of the big four gets involved in issues like this and engage local political leadership, a lot can be achieved, maybe not for us whose applications are in queue but for future candidates.
