The issue regarding high spousal time for CIC to CHC isn't just a foreign minister issue. Its a international problem. The conservatives (pre-dominatly west) Canadian Government isn't in high support of Pakistan. Thus, Canadian Immigration and Human Rights of Canada, will do as they please. There is no logical reason to why it takes 24 months to sponsor a wife/husband. (probably the only reason for slow movement is that Afghan's don't have a Canadian Embassy).
Hence, if we had a strong "pakistani" political leader here in Canada (which we don't) it would have helped us. Emailing, faxing and calling won't change a thing (not that i don't want it too..). Pakistan has there own major problems (electricity, CNG, strikes, corruption, inflation). Migration to Canada is least of their concerns.

"LIKE THEY SAY MONEY AND CONTACTS TALK IN PAKISTAN".

u r soo right mi friend ...
pakistans gov is even least bothered abt wats happening there y the heck wud dey care abt people like us who r suffring due to this immigration????:(

I also emailed ottawa on Monday and got the exactly same reply within few hours. They are not giving any status on file same generic email.

ok just received a reply from ottawa and they said:

Dear Madam / Sir,

This is in response to your email (see below).
Your application is in process. No further action is required by you at this time.

An immigration officer will be in contact with you if any further correspondence is needed.
We thank you for your patience and for keeping your correspondence to a minimum.
For future reference, in all correspondence to our office, please refer to the applicant's full name, date of birth and file number.

Yes, so we should fix some date to fax together, so it will show some numbers for her to take attention in this matter and there is no harm in trying.

I found this as previous post thought it would be good to share with everyone here who are currently in the process of sponsoring their spouse. Insha Allah if we all appeal to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we will be able to have some positive impact, as was the case in UK:

Hello everyone,

Spousal Immigration seems to be the toughest task on the planet[for pakistanis only ]

I dont know how people around here got soooo much "patience" to wait for 9 months, 16 months, 21 months, 23 months and 24 months, not finally, because it is expected to exceed to 28 months, 32 months...38 months.......the sequence of increasing months in your choice....

People applied in 2011, should raise their voice against this unfair prolong time....so I am appealing everyone on this forum to write to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to divert attention of our officials to this unjust.....

You can write anonymously. And I think Fax is the better option to deliver the letter. Here is the Fax number of our beloved Foreign Minister, Ms. Hina Rabbani Khar:

051-9210335

You can also send by post on this address:

Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
Foreign Office Building (near Serena Hotel),
Constitution Avenue,
G-5, Islamabad.

It would be better, if the letter is written directly to the Foreign Minister.

Guys, if you remember, last year UK visa applications were gathered in bulk, and thousands of applicants were waiting due to slow, and inefficiency of the visa office. People wrote to Foreign Ministry of Pakistan and they took an action to resolve the issue.

I think we all spousal visa victims ......should at least bring into the notice of Foreign Minister...that the spousal visas are taking too much time and it is against human rights....hope it will make some difference...

InshAllah

I appeal to all those senior members of this forum, who got the visa, or about to get a visa to acknowledge my appeal voluntarily...
I will be thankful...

They are sending the same generic response to everyone the only difference they put my file number. I will be ordering my GCMS notes to check for update now.

I agree with people how Pakistani government doesn't care about its people but we are overseas Pakistanis - they give us a little bit more preference because in their view like every other Pakistanis view, we are different.
I dont know no harm in giving it a shot guys.

I wish we had hina rabbani's email address since I got no fax machine :( ..
29 december sounds goood to me :) ..
lets involve everyone please, the more people we have, they might end up feeling "pressured".
