Just wanted to let you know I am Aug 2012 and still havent heard anything.

Now CIC is worrying me with my originals. I havent received them back yet. I know its not unusual as some have received them after 90 days of visa issuance. However, I have also heard horror stories that they have lost the original papers. I hope this doesnt happen with my file.

Did you try calling CHC Islamabad and ask for originals?

2 Questions pls!

Hey guys can someone tell me is CHC islamabad call us i mean if there is a call from CHC then what number will show us like i mean its start from 051 or 02525 ?

because today there was a call from 02525 but when i try to pick it up it got miscall and then no call again

and the other question is which city is best except Toronto i mean i knew Toronto is the best but near to Toronto i heard that Alberta is also good but there is always so cold so for settlement or job wise, your kind suggestion would be really appreciated in sha Allah......

As I advised to another member, do not look at just the settlement/family factor; yes there is no better place to settle in/around GTA but the employment situation particularly for new immigrants is not very encouraging and overall economy of Ontario is on a constant slide. BC employment outlook may be a bit better than Ontario but situation is almost similar with too many applicants for a limited number of jobs.

Alberta is cold but not like you cannot survive and you get a fairly good summer. Based on my experience and what I have been hearing from settled Albertans, there are lots of job opportunities in every field with many new projects starting and in pipeline.

Do your own research as well and then take a decision

Answer to your 2nd question since Shahmed responded to your first question.

Other than Toronto another province you can think of settling in is Vancouver British Columbia. I've heard it's a bit pricy but so is Toronto.

Call IOM contact center or email them. CHC won't let you know and sometimes they take months to update the e-case

Is there anyone else who didn't submit orignal documents along with CA? I didn't submit the orignals, instead I attached attested copies of them. Would they ask about these later? Any one else who didn't send originals EDUCATION doc like me?

I did. Agent advised me to send an email to both Mississauga office and CHC-ISB. That is yet to be done.

There are pros and cons in every option. I am not very sure if BC is better than Ontario. Cost of living is significantly high in BC and job situation is almost as discouraging as in Ontario while in Ontario atleast the cost of living is cheaper and there is a large muslim/pakistani community

BC is a popular destination only bcoz of it's weather and exotic landscape.
