I thing ppl are mixing the international license and pakistani local license with each other. I just came to calgary three months back. You need international license to drive the car for 90 days after arrival and second thing pakistani license which need verification from Vancouver embassy and submitted to registry for exemption of 1 year learner period of GDL class 7 and 2 year of probationer period of GDL class 5. The older the license more will be chances to get exemption and good deal for insurance per month. If he can give insurance letter showing that his record was good in paksitan this will further decrease his car insurance cost per month.

Sister usually it takes around 4 weeks but then the holidays, so I would say Inshallah hopefully maybe third week of Jan.

I am new here and also new applicant. We have out-land case i.e. "Canadian citizen living exclusively outside Canada" Alhumdullah finally the case is submitted on 5th December 2013 and now the wait starts.

I was reading the forum and I could see some the cases are done in 1.5 years while other are waiting. CIC website says 32 months ... Please educate me about the timelines and also whats the avg processing time ?

best of luck every one and may God be with all and help us all in successful completion of spouse case on urgent basis "Ameen"

Yes, you have understood the basics of the spousal visa processing procedure. It may be completed in 1.5 years and unfortunately it may hit close to 32 months also.

Average for 2013 was approximately 18 months i would say. It depends on your luck and mostly on God's will. No one can really tell you when your case will be accepted/completed.

In the end "hope for the best and expect the worst".
