Hi,
I applied for my husband in November 2011.
It was transferred on December 22, 2011.
After that, I haven't heard from them at all....

Thanks Scarfie. Lets be in touch Via email , Hope we will hear from CHC Soon , if not i will do anything to make Canadian Immigration aware that this is not fair for the people of Pakistan .I will probably need support from people in this forum . The problem is that we dont complaint against this Fail system . I already started with my MP . My email is mughal06@gmail.com.

Thanks

judging from the pattern i have seen on this forum, you should see a status update somewhere in april, maybe you will find some consolation with someone closer to ur timeline :). i just got a status update after 15 months of file transfer, seems to be the case with everyone i know.

Yes i am expecting an update on April. It will be 16 months on April though from the time that i applied for the sponsorship. I dont care when the file is transfered to Islamabad , they are tracking the time from the begning and 28th months process time is based on time from when you applied . Hope you will get goood news sooner then later. Good luck !

sorry seattlehawk27 :) but the 28 month time is the time the file takes while it sits in the islamabad office n not since the time u applied. i know i wish it wud have been the total time of application , n i wiish it was much less than 28 months, but sadly right now its wishful thinking :'( :-[ :(. hope all of us here soon enough from them now!

yup, 28 months is only for stage 2, which is after the file gets transferred to islamabad. so far, it seems that 15-17 month mark is when people are getting requests and that the VO are processing the files in completion. following this initial review it anywhere between 6-10 months till the end.

well a relative of mine ... had it in 8 months and one member named babby had it in 6 months time ... but for that u have to be really lucky

timelines are estimates only, and are recalculated every quarter. they also vary drastically, i think in 3 years time i've seen it go from 12 months to 28 months, so who knows how long it takes to go back down to 12 months. these timelines are also for completion of 80% of the cases, and i think it was about 16months for completion of 50% fo the cases in the previous 12 months (data from sept 2012), so my suggestion to all those who are applying now ... don't leave anything to chance!

don't give the VO any reason to not approve your file when they do look at it. the more they have to go back and update the BFDs (bring forward dates) the longer everything takes ... there is plenty of advice here on what the VO look out for, benefit from that. explain and clarify anything that you think might cause concern. don't leave out information because you thikn "i'll send it if they ask for it" .. be proactive. best is to look at your application with a very strict regard and make sure you haven't left anything out. i had my brother, who had nothing to do with filling out the application, look it over and make sure that all the questions were properly answered and the proof was well documented. this helped quite a bit cause he raised a few red flags that i hadn't thought of cause i was constantly looking at the application and had overlooked such small details.

in all honesty, the MPs have been a hit and a miss ... some are great, others just regurgitate the information that we already know. i never ordered my GCMS notes, but was about to in the last month when my wife's PP hadn't been returned in 4 months but then we got it. However, there seems to be a lot of good details in the GCMs, based on others info that i have read ... if you are past that 18months mark and have heard nothing from CHC and no updates on ecas, then you might want to do so. just to reassure yourself in case there have mail delays/lost. i have lost all faith in the pakistani post system, of the 4 greeting cards i sent to my wife in karachi, only 1 made it to her house. almost every letter from CHC was sent back to them as undeliverable and then they call us and then resend it. after the second time, i just sent them TCS preaddressed envelopes and asked that they use that and do COD (charge on delivery) due to unreliable nature of the post. i was willing to pay the Rs.200 each time just so that i can be sure that their letters reached my wife within 2 bus. days. if it weren't for these post delays i'm sure we could have had my wife's application done ~2-3 months sooner! (no joke). i'm glad that they are using email now, and really wish they'd done with us. :P

just wondering anyone know where Reta1 is ? did she get her visa ::)

salam to all ,

I have a question for people who just got their PP back is there a timeline given for you to report to Canada or Is it up to you to land in Canada at your own time ........ the point is i have just submitted my re-PCC which states its validity for 6 months so that means i should be expecting my Visa in these coming six months and judging by the processing time after PPR it takes around four to five months for them to send back PP with Visa ... and i haven't got any PPR yet :( :( :( .. so Im in a fix as i have to wind up a lot of stuff here as i have no one left here except me and that would require some time ... can anybody help ... ::) ::) ::) ::) :-\ :-\ :-\

usually what i've seen is that the visa has an expiry date which is the same as either the medical expiry date or the passport expiry, whichever is SOONER. you have to land in Canada before this date, or risk having to restart your application all over again. if there are some exceptional circumstances in which you cannot travel in a certain time frame, i think advising CHC-Islamabad of that before they issue a visa within that timeframe would be better than trying to do it afterwards. since your pcc is about to expire and you are considered about the timeframe you will have to land, a case specific enquiry would be good to let them about this and ask about a status update on your file.

To request gcms notes:

Download IMM 5563E from CIC website. Links for forms are below:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5563E.pdf
(SIGN BY SPONSOR)

MAKE PAYMENT ONLINE AND PRINT OUT THE RECIEPT (FILLTHE CREDIT CARD INFO)THEN PUT THE RECIPET WITH THE FORM

ATTACH THE FORMS TOGETHER AND E-MAIL THEM TO THE BELOW ADDRESS

ATIP-AIPRP @ cic.gc.ca

if the applicant hasn't already sent in a consent form appointing the sponsor as an authorized individual that consent form needs to be filled out, signed by the applicant and send in the email with the request form. if the authorization was sent with the application to mississauga, then a copy of that form should suffice. ATIP is quick to respond if they need a new consent form, but it takes about 30 days to get the GCMS notes.

Thanks to allmightly Allah, what felt as endless waiting has come to its end...today my wife recieved her passport
stamped with visa and two copies of COPR. Visa was stamped on Mar 4 and ecas status changed to 'Decision Made' with Canadian address
anywhere between Mar 6 and Mar 11.
It is about 20 months since application was recieved in Islamabad...20 very long and stressful months...it is hard to put in words
how exhilirated and grateful we both and our families are. With deep gratitude comes prayers that everyone here
who is waiting for their PR get it very very soon. I hope and pray that long waiting times of last couple of years come down to reasonable and humane level. Certainly no one deserve to have to go through this. Best wishes and prayers for all of you folks.
