Check out RougeAmour posts

"To all members who will inshallah receive ppr soon:

Attach a cover letter and itinerary for when you plan to travel. It helped me and my husband receive our passport back sooner, just before the date on the booking we sent them. It can't hurt to try. "

One more thing to be careful of, which I read in a previous post somewhere, they returned passport without stamping visa since the date mentioned on the itinerary was too close for them to actually stamp and send passport back.

Like others said, use your own discretion. I personally feel it's best to only send what's required, but that's my 2 cents.

Hey guys,

If I wanted to find out where my file is (OTT/ISB), can I just call the call centre or do I have to go through the MP? If call centre, how do I go abouts asking where the file is? Is there something specific I have to ask or just generally ask where the file has been transferred to.

Thanks.

No good news of VISA or PPR on this forummmmmmmmmmm........ very disappointing

i guess you can just ask them the status of your file... once they tell you you can ask further detail...
i noticed few ppl on this thread inquired about their file and CIC call centre provided them with the required information...so they can tell you better

No visa shiza n No PPR.

I called the call center today to try to get to the bottom of this CIC-Ottawa pilot project.
The call center clarified the following for me:

  • The files transferred to the CIC-O were the "straight forward" cases
  • The files will be assessed entirely in CIC-O (upto decision) and the final VISA issuance instructions will be given to CIC-Isb
  • Files which are later deemed to be non-straight forward will be transferred out to CIC-Isb for further processing
  • CIC-Isb Files transferred to CIC-O fall under the CIC-O 12-month timeline, measure the time from the transfer date. If after 12 months you do not hear anything, contact CIC-O directly

can anyone please give me the call centres number and timings

I think you should contact Ottawa and tell them the 12 months processing time has passed ( some people are saying it should take 12 months according to Ottawa processing times some are saying the timeline would be the same as Islamabad which is 26 months) but in any case just tell them and you will get to know the real picture if they are following their 12 months time or the 26 months time.

Please when you contact Ottawa don't talk about 26 month thing, just tell them about 12 month. Don't give them good idea to just shut us down by saying 26 months. Normally Ottawa VO is to help ISB and treat straight forward case so it should stick to their timing and not ISB.

Let me explain you this in bullet points, it is logic that it should follow Ottawa timeline and not ISB.

- Files are treated in Queue, First come First served (No matter which office), this is the rule and it is clearly indicated on the CIC website.
- If file transferred to ISB that get in that ISB VO queue.
- If send to Ottawa it is in Ottawa queue because otherwise if it is ISB queue to follow it is impossible to manage it.
- There is no time period, files are treated as Immigration officer free up, so logically out file in Ottawa should be treated same way as other files in Ottawa, in order. SO it is logical that it follow Ottawa timeline and not ISB.

Also 26 months in ISB is the 80% of cases there also 20% cases that are done in 15 months, so how they will do this math ? or they just dump our file and wait till 26 months ?

I don't think it works like that.

So When you call talk about 12 months as this is Ottawa VO timeline, and never about 26 months, don't ever mention it as it is easy out for the person to get rid of you.
