Welcome aboard!
Name changed is not a big deal as long she change in legal way, it's doesn't matter how long before she changed. People change their names all the time.
just make sure before you apply she should have new name on NIC and Passport.

For you information I changed my wife's name 3 week before the Nikah and we send all the court order papers, news paper notices regarding her name change to CIC with our application.

Thank you for the promt reply!

She has changed both her first & last names. Don't know of that makes a huge difference.

I guess, as mentioned by another member, including a letter of explation & a copy of her Ba'ath forms on which includes both her former & new names would be appropriate.

I guess the issue I was having is the fact that all her schooling, college/university, other official docs have her former name.

But we will make sure to have her new NIC to show she's married to me along with her new name. Same goes for her passport.

by the way Your issue also address in basic Immigration application form “IMM0008EN” if you take look under the personal detail question number 2. Have you ever used any other name?

Your file tranferred in Feb 2012, you will probably hear from them in early 2013.

Pray to Allah that they accelerate the process for Pakistan. If that happens, you may hear from Canadian High Commission earlier, otherwise, hold tight till early next year.

Congratulationss bro...

Quick question guys. I had my file transferred in may 2012. Just out of curiosty i emailed CHC once. Ask them if they recieved my file in ISB-CHC. They replied after 2 months, stating "they haven't recieved it". I know it hasn't been a long time at all, probably not even opened my file. However, that doesn't really mean file is lost in the air or something? Probably just not in queue?.
