Congratulationssssssssss!May Allah always bless you and you been a great source of help for all of us....

Salam to all. Hope your Ramadan is going well.

I have only recently joined this form & have been reading through this forum & the chc-I 2012-2013 forum.

My situation is probably different than the norm; I'm a CDN citizen living in GTA trying to sponsor my soon to be wife who's from KHI, PK.
Our relationship has developed over the last 5yrs & with the help of almighty Allah we're getting married in Aug 2012 after Eid inshAllah!

We have decided to perfom all rituals/ceremonies to make ease for sponsorship.
Nikaah, Shaadi & Walima will all be held next month after Eid (iA) with both our families present.

The 'difference' I was talking about however Is the fact that my soon to be wife has recently changed her legal name (last year).

Does anyone have, or herd of, any experiences with dealing with a similar situation to mine. Where the sponsor had a recent name change?

Most of her documents show the old name, however she will make a new NIC ID & all the Shaadi cards are in her new name.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am pretty sure there is a section on the forms which asks for the maiden name. So that will help them understand that some docs could be under the maiden name versus the new name. You could also include a letter explaining the situation, I think that should suffice...

Welcome aboard!
Name changed is not a big deal as long she change in legal way, it's doesn't matter how long before she changed. People change their names all the time.
just make sure before you apply she should have new name on NIC and Passport.

For you information I changed my wife's name 3 week before the Nikah and we send all the court order papers, news paper notices regarding her name change to CIC with our application.
