Congrats Danny. My family joined me last week and trust me it just feels a different world. Good Luck with everything and I pray that both of you have a successful, happy, and a great life.

TIP... Please do not fly from PIA. My wife's flight was not only delayed by 7 hours, they also treated the passengers like *censored word*.

Night before the flight she received a call from PIA to confirm the flight and the seat. She left at 4 for the airport to catch a 8 am flight. When reached at the airport, PIA staff said the flight from KHI hasn't arrived to ISB yet and the new flight time is 11:30 and check-in will start at 8:00 am. She went back home and at 7:30 before leaving called and confirmed for the flight departure, which was at 11:30. ALL OK confirmed by the staff.

Reached airport, said Good byes, and went for checking in. After customs, security checks, and paper checks when she reached at the counter for her boarding pass, the PIA staff said that the new time is now 1:00 pm. She gave my wife an option to go back outside and check in again 2 hrs before the flight or she can issue her a boarding pass and my wife can wait in the lounge. My wife decided to check in and wait in the lounge, since I have a 18 months old daughter too and it is not easy to go back and forth. During her wait in the lounge the time changed from 1 to 1:30. Finally, PIA started boarding passengers. Went through the process of checks into the bus that takes to the plane. Now the staff standing near the plane is not allowing the passengers to get on the plane. Imagine 75-100 ppl standing on the runway. After some heated exchange of words with the some passengers who were Canadian citizens and staff, they allowed the passengers to sit in the plane. After everyone is seated in the plane, PIA flight staff made everyone get off the plane again. No reason was given. Now again all passengers from KHI and ISB are off the plane, standing on the runway. After 30 mins PIA staff finally decided that punishment for the passengers is over and they made them sit in the plane. The plane finally left 2:30 pm from Islamabad for Toronto.

I guess PIA actually taught its passengers a lesson for flying on PIA and never to forget the PIA experience. Pay some extra money and choose other airlines over PIA. Our reason was that she couldn't travel using a connecting flight coz she is pregnant. But I strongly believe that even with connecting flights her journey would have been less stressful and less painful.

Yes, it sure must be a very busy time for you here, and for your wife back home :)
Wishing you all the best and happy life together :)

Regards, Bright_Day

My file was received by CIC Mississauga on Feb 27th and they just sent me an email confirming that they have received my file on March 31st. My file however has not yet been transferred to ISB. I see that your file was received by them in the beginning of March. I was wondering, did they send you an email stating that you have been approved as a sponsor and that they have transferred the file to ISB?

i sent file on mar 06, 2012, and it got to them on mar 07 as i put a signature request on it ... on may 31st i got an email which provided me with file/application number, client id, and read that "u have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. accordingly ur application for permanent residence for your relative has been forwarded to a visa office abroad for further processing (chc-isl). any further information or documents you may have, contact with them directly thankyou"... thats the jist of it... in about 2-3 weeks it will be in isl and they will prob update that they got the file there...

what u r woried about is why you havent heard anything yet, well they were overwhelmed at miss office and sent some files to the ottawa-pilot office, luckily mine was one of them... dont worry you will be hearing very soon from them... and to check ur application status online use the uci code (8 digits) that works for me not the application number... if urs is done by miss office u will more likely get a letter... ott-pilot is email only...

Salam to all :),
I have a suggesion / idea which i would like to share with all of you.
Few of the forum members have made several attempts in complaining about the long processing time at CHC Islamabad to the minister Mr. Jason Kenney or to the local MP's. The change is coming, but lets hope it comes quick and the processing time goes down from 26 months to 6 months ;D
We are trying to make this long process to go down, so that future applicant will not have to go through this horrible waiting time.

Since most of the complains were done by those who were going through this process, i suggest that now for those who are done with this process to write a letter to Mr. Jason Kenney.
In letter you can explain the time frame ( with exact dates ) from first stage to the last stage.
Can explain how tough it was to be married and not being with the spouse ( and for some members: with spouse + children ) here in Canada. Not all of us can go and stay in Pakistan until the process gets completed, so we end up waiting here. How the relationship keep continued was through technology such as emails, phone communications, texts, skype, letters etc....which is not healthy for a relationship. It is understandable that the long process is due to the high volume of application and not enough staff working there, but is that the answer sufficient for those who are in the waiting boat. And plus the fees is same for all applications, so why not time be same or atleast close enough between all the Canadian embassy in each country.

These above points plus other points can be added on the letter, so that the minister can get a better perspective from those who are done with this and those who are going through this.
What do you all think about this. I would like to get some feedback :)
Regards, Bright_Day.

hahahaha ;D
Good one ;D
