First Excuse : VOLUME : The volume is not even quarter as much as the volume at New Delhi office if you check on the data.gc.ca website for immigration data (EDIT I checked and its 2,000 applications for NON-ECONOMICS in ISLAMABAD vs 10,000 applications at New Delhi for NON ECONOMICS applications so 80% more applications at ND than ISB). The only thing they must have is the volume of staff working on the Islamabad location was probably decreased or even next to none. Also a lot of the work load for skilled workers etc was shifted over to London so it should have decreased the timeline not increase it.

Second Excuse: DELAY IN VERIFICATION DUE TO PK OFFICIALS: The second reason about the delay in the verification I also dont buy that because how were the Islamabad cases being done in processing time of 6 months or less about 2-3 years ago before Conservatives came into power ?????? Were there no verification checks back then???

There is something else that we are not told.

Thank you for quoting the figures to support their lame excuses.

As some people are thinking about petitioning or going to the the right authorities... you may consider getting facts from credible sources and being supported by a person in the parliament or MP or lawyer (but that might cost a lot, unless they do it pro bono), or someone that can represent our suppressed voices and cries of help. (Not to sound defeated, but I just want my wife here with me... and live my life. I am all for raising my concern, but personally I don't see anyone changing the system if our political leaders are not even concerned about the people's lives. Then why would the Canadian Gov be approaching Pakistan to help. Pakistan should be asking to make the relationship better).

Change is hard to bring in Pakistan but in Canada we can express ourselves about the unjust treatment of CHC-I and someone may hear. We cannot get any updates and are asked to sit quietly and wait!

There is no quota for spouses or dependent children, even if the target is lower.

26 months is an approximate figure. And this figure is based on complete and concrete application package submitted to the immigration dept. If there are any discrepancies in your application, then of course you should expect delays in the processing of your application.

Yea but i think what Intellix meant to ask was what is the average number of visas issued to spouses per year? That way we can at least see if the avg number of visas issued per year is lower than the target rate then we have some hope!

i have another suggestion too..why not if some legal advice is taken too from some lawyer...before appraoching to the authorities!!!!

Yeah, since i'm in pakistan and never been to Canada so i'm completely unaware of canadian system. one should try to follow the right procedure so getting an advise from lawyer would definitely help. Some ppl suggest it's useless but there is no harm in trying. It is generally said if you start something you end up getting some success which can be as little as 10% but efforts don't go in vain. Canada has a transparent system and they care about human rights so i hope that our voice will be heard.

Increased volume of applications is always considered a main factor of lengthy times but this can be resolved by hiring more staff. If staff can't be placed in pakistan due to any reason then again there's a solution to deal with this problem. They may transfer our files to other visa offices just like they have done for economic catagory.

Guys..pls do write to Foreign Ministry of Pakistan..as Armaanz85 suggested that due to limited staff, CHC-I works like that..."staff because Pakistan Only issues limited visas to their Embassy staff due to their internal foreign visa policy.."
