Lol! ;)

I once read an interview of an Indian cricket player in a sports magazine (Cricket Samrat). Whenever the Indian team played in Pakistan, there was this Indian player (I forget his name) who would hope that his captain would make him the third man so that he could stand near the fence where the pretty ladies would be sitting ;)

hmm.. yeah!! it's high-time they sent it anyways!!
congratulations agn and keep the rest of us in your prayers!! :)

OK..so now i'm confused!!
i've gone through this manual and it doesn't say anywhere that a sponsor (PR already living in Canada) has to be IN CANADA when spouse is issued visa in Pakistan!!
What you're saying only applies to CANADIAN citizens living OUTSIDE canada!! :S
am I correct in understanding or does someone has a better take at this?? :/

This is an absolute requirement for Permanent Residents who sponsor their spouses that they MUST be in Canada at the time a Sponsorship Application is submitted to CPC-M AND at the time a Permanent Resident Visa is issued to their spouses abroad.

Permanent Residents are not eligible to sponsor their family members from outside Canada or if they are living outside Canada during the application process although they were present in Canada while submission of Sponsorship Application to CPC-M.

Manual: IP2 Section 5.10:

"Permanent Residents living abroad may NOT sponsor from outside Canada"

hi wes.. I'm worried now!!
WHERE does it say on this link that PR has to be IN canada when spouse (ie: me) is issued visa in pak?? coz the way you guys are saying, that means my husband CAN not land WITH ME in Canada.. he has to be there before I go??:S! *URGH!!*
h-e-l-p!!

So that means the sponsor (PR) can still go for visits to their family during the process can't they? They only have to remain in Canada while the first stage approval is in process and at the time of VISA issuance and Landing.

simple concludes that if PR has to continually live in Canada to fulfil sponsorship eligibility .......... it does not have to say while application is in process that would be in the interpretation of legislation but clearly this is what it means ............ the moment you no longer fulfil the requirement of being physically available in Canada (except shorts visits back home for vacation), your application can be denied with a right of appeal

thanks for reply...time line is exactly same as urs...but its a husband case...I hear for wife cases PPR is 2 months wehere as for husband's case its god knows how long! =(

If by this you are asking ............. Can your husband visits Pak and accompany you to Canada upon landing ........... ofcourse he can take vacations and accompany you on your way to Canada ............ as long as his country of primary/usual residence is Canada NOT Pakistan

Hi zeee. It doesnt matter if one is PR OR Canadian citizen, in these days they need a single clue to either delay the case or fulley reject the case. In any status if the embassy found that sponser is living in PK above than normal time (Avg 3-4 months) and that visa is ready to be issued they will put a stop on the visa issuance and request the sponser to go back to Canada and provide full proof. Recently I visited my wife for about 1.5 months had I not known this issue I could have stayed longer but came back before they make it a issue to further delay my case. Its been 19 months already. So please forget the manual or law as what is written. There are many other things written in the manual and charter but CHC-I is exempted from them and they are free to do anything they think is right for them.

I stayed here for 8 months last year as well but told them that im here while i was here and provided them proofs and when i left i provided them proofs that im in canada. i didnt get any objection all ka shukar hai so far, i hope i dont get any objection!

Oh Great you are there already. Veeray yes that was my intention but thought I should go back before they make it another issue for me. Its been 3 days sofar and I am finding it very hard to readjust myself. Next month university will start so hopefully with university plus with job search things will bring me back to normal. My re-medical is valid till Oct 30,2011 so I am praying that they should review my rukhsati material, post wedding pic's and other visit's stuff and should wave the interview and issue PPR before medical get expired again. If not than I'll go again in Dec after finishing the semester.
