My wife sent the updated pcc and suppl. forms back in March 10 2011 and yesterday I got CAIPS notes - they haven't updated the file yet. I don't know how long it will take them to open the damn store ormail room and go through the mail and attach them to our files. Bunch of idiots working at CHC-I
So I emailed CHC-I last night regarding our mar 10, 2011 response to re-pcc and supple forms that our mail needs to be opened and attach to our file for review and thats what they responded within overnight. Good job by CHC-I on email response.

CHC-I response this morning (May 20 2011):
Dear Client,

This is in response to your email (see below).

Your application is currently in process and is in queue for review.

MY EMAIL last night (May 19 2011):

Thank you very much for the last reply.
As per your last response (attached below) and CAIPS notes, they don't mention that you have received our response to your Feb XX 2011 request for RE-PCC and supplementary forms.
We have sent all your requested documents in the beginning of March 2011 with courier service (GERRY'S) with the tracking number XXXXXXXXX.
As per Gerry's website (www.visadropbox.com) you have received it on Thursday March XX, 2011.
It has been over 2 months since our response to your requested documents and as per CAIPS the bring forward date for our file was April 16, 2011.
We would greatly appreciate it if you would please attach our response with our file as soon as possible for further review.
Thanks.

Assalamualaikum folks,

A friend of mine got in touch with the media regarding the ridiculously long spousal visa processing times at CHC-Islamabad. He got a positive response from CBC, who have assigned the renowned journalist Muhammad Lila to this potential story. Muhammad got in touch with my friend and asked him if he could get a number of people who're going through this ordeal and set up a meeting with him. So far there are three of us who are taking the lead on this initiative, but obviously, having a larger group of people will send a much stronger message i.e. the delays are not isolated, but widespread.
I should add a disclaimer that this would most likely NOT affect our cases in a positive way since most of us are a year or more into the process anyway and the process won't change overnight. But the hope is, inshaAllah, that this will bring the issue to light and hopefully prompt the ministry to take action to improve the process for future cases.
So, I'm looking for people who might be interested in taking part in this initiative -- preferably those from the GTA area, but others are welcome too. What we're planning to do is to gather a decent-sized group and set up a meeting with Muhammad Lila in a couple of weeks. I see this forum as the perfect place to get this kind of support. Although I'm a relatively new "member", I've been following this thread for a while now and am impressed by people's attitude and resolve.

If you're interested, please send me an email at m @ hameeds.net (I still haven't figured out the Inbox thing here) with your name and rough location. Once we have a few people, we'll get in touch with Muhammad and try to organize the meeting. We're hoping to get around 20 - 30 people inshaAllah.
If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. I look forward to hearing from you.

JazakumUllah khair,

Muhammad Ali Hameed

I can't make it to the meeting but I think it is important for the reporter to still be aware of the magnitude of this ridiculous situation. Would he mind if the rest of us got in touch with him via email or something? Perhaps you could also direct him towards this forum and other sources just so he realizes what a big issue this is.

Also, I think it is important for people NOT to stress the minor details of their individual cases. The purpose should be to draw attention to how the processing times in general are outrageous and there are many people suffering because of it. This needs to be highlighted in the media as a very broad issue as opposed to articles we see sometimes about one person going through a tough time.

Salaam sis mahmed,
Don't worry about crazy MP NOT doing their filing the right way!! Same happend with me when I went to MP the second time. She said "have you been here before cause I don't have your hubby's file#"!!! >:( Keep sending them your hearty emails at least once a month and forget about giving them MPs time to settle...go bug them ;D

I took my hubby to Toronto downtown yesterday. I was so hungry so I saw this store with HALAL sign on it and went inside saw the certificate and ordered! When we were done eating, I started conversation with the owner and finaly he said "for me heart is important!! who follows 100% of Islam to follow Halal or no Halal??" F**king owner sh*t with false certificate >:( >:( I realy do hate how people are using the work Halal to make money >:( may allah burn their a*s in hell!!!!

Normally, they just ask for the updated information so they can start background checks. When applicants receive the request for rePCC and IMM forms normally means that they think the marriage is genuine otherwise they also request for supporting documents if they are in doubt. In your case, it seems like they are happy with what you sent so I wouldn't worry about it. Atleast files are opening in 6-7months for initial review, my wife's took 11months :( so they are working a little faster than normal :) good to see...

As Wes bhai said, they seem to think that your relationship is genuine as they didn't send you any objection letter :)

Lets hope there is no interview InshAllah.
