I feel that the reason the spousal processing times are longer now because of Afghanistan.
All the Afghan sponserships are going through the ISB CHC office.
I think they should handle all the Afghan files from the UK or DUBAI office's not ISB.
Not that I have anything against Afghanistani folks but because of the past issue's and problems which
occured there security measures have tightened for the residents there to immigrate in Canada and especially in the USA and UK too.
They should just process Pakistan National cases at ISB CHC.

Dude it has nothing to do with the work load, I have myself called once CHC-ISB and after arguing to them they transferred me to the visa section. Lady in visa section told me that we have enough staff to work and we can finish all spousal cases in a week. CHC-ISB have special instructions from Canadian Immigration Ottawa to delay all cases from Pakistan, and she said CHC-ISB works on Ottawa's guidelines and time lines.

I personally think Workload/short staff is all hoax, isn't Canada a 1st world country and in a G8 ???

Also one thing I tell every Pakistani, if you decided to go to MP or something to inquire on your file or for whatever reason, go in a group or with some community leader otherwise they wont do anything for you. And for future reference to all of you; always attach yourself to a social/political/religious or humanitarian group, this is very important to our survival in north america ..

Hey bro pakivette why exactly did u argue with them i mean CHC-I?? And why would they transfer u to visa section, and how come they disclosed this to u, i believe this is thier internal policy if so..

Pakivette, BTW, I am a dudette ... Anyways, how do I attach myself to a social/political/religious or humanitarian group?? I am in Montreal and I do know of any of the groups you mentioned.
Ottawa, why would they intruct ISB CHC to delay the applications? There is no valid reason I can think of.
I will check in with Ottawa and let you guys in on the outcome.

Even if they have the special instructions to slow down the process but there is no way they would disclose that information to the applicant. May be they just said it to piss you off or basically an indirect msg to tell you not to inquire about the case for a while.

The Embassy is pissing everyone off anyway. I don't understand why the hell they have that stupid telephone number if they don't want to talk to people and answer their questions. It's just so pathatic. In their website they have clearly mentioned about calling on that line if anyone has concerns about their case, but then again they just don't want to talk to anyone. It doesn't really make any kind of sense.
