I had written to Jason Kenney's office last month and mentioned that my husbands case was taking very long and much more and in return I received an email advising me that the applications in ISB CHC are handled as " FIRST COME FIRST SERVE " and that it is not fair for anyone else to advance their file before someone who had applied for sponsorship before. Now, from that email what I do not understand is then why are people in this forum from 2009 still waiting for PPR and some from 2010 already have their VISA's
issued to them. I have a feeling that there is some funny business going under the table's at ISB CHC and Jason Kenney should AUDIT what is going on in that office. Also, INDIA is as corrupt as PAKISTAN is in EVERY WAY possible so why are NEW DELHI cases processed so fast??? Doesnt Immigration realize that any person can travel amongst both boardering countries and try to immigrate to CANADA or the USA.
They should treat us equally, it is our right to according to Human Rights Regulations.

Every case are different, there is cases where missing some questions, there is cases missing documents, cases need more support those cases take more time because they sending you letter and you have respond back - and all this takes time, this cases going back to the line waiting for new information. As my cases was family information and im008 was filed wrong so filed again and send it back thats why my takes more than year, but now i got my re-medical and hopfully next will be my ppr. Also why is taking more time than India because every office handle it differently. Have you see that there is offices where taking 27-30 months. You have to be happy that for us its takes 16 months. The problem with us is that we not helping each other, we should start helping each other. So the other people shouldn't make mastakes that we did.

Well explained by Zohal. Also would like to add that if people have travelled or lived at another country, therefore more security checks and longer background screening, passport expires so they have to renew, marriage doesn't seen genuine therefore more supporting documents, gave birth to a baby therefore more paper work, all these facts count. Each case is handled differently depending on how complicated it is.

True, but I still think that the processing time to sponser your spouse it too long and is insane.
Really, how can a Genuine Marriage remain the same after this torture? I am sure the employees at
ISB CHC are married and have families and do understand how difficult it gets for couples who
are such a distance away waiting to reunite. I just feel the humanity is becoming so extinct from this
world, honestly, we are all have the same hearts and emotions. I should have took Political Sciences in
school, now I really regret it. Maybe if I were in Parliment or even in the office's as an employee I would have helped all immigrants around the world who deserve a normal life as others have. VOTE FOR ME, LOL

No VISA, no letter, nothing at all. Seems like ISB CHC forgot about my husband's file.
They havent even started the Initial review, it is still in the queue for the initial review.
It has been 1 year and 1 month since I sponsored him from Canada! AOR date is APR 27, 2010

I am so exhausted from this sponsorship, I wish my husband was already here in Canada.

Oh well, my luck is so bad!

Cuts to family-reunification visas upset Asians
Community 'angry' elders may be kept out of country for years
By Suzanne Fournier, The Province February 10, 2011

Vancouver's Asian community is furious at allegations Immigration Canada is planning to dramatically cut visas issued this year for family reunification.

The reduction in visas in 2011 cuts to the heart of Asian and South Asian families, who especially cherish the contribution of elders to family life.

Seniors are being sentenced to a 13-year wait that many of them won't survive, say immigration experts.

Thomas Tam, chief executive officer of SUCCESS immigrant services, called the reduced visa numbers "a big surprise and so disappointing -everyone is angry."

"Traditionally for Asian immigrants, the reunion with grandparents is very important. Parents rely on them for childcare and our community looks after grandparents. They are not a financial burden."

Immigration Canada is planning for "fewer immigrant visas overall, a reduction from 230,450 in 2010 to 217,800 visas in 2011, a drop of over five per cent," noted Vancouver immigration lawyer Richard Kurland, who got the never-released data under an Access to Information request.

"You're more likely now to get a coffin than a visa to Canada," Kurland said Wednesday.

"If you're hoping to bring a grandparent over for a christening, they'll be lucky to get here before the child graduates from high school."

Although Kurland notes there will be slight increases in visas issued in 2011 to business immigrants, such as entrepreneurs or wealthy investors, "the only group chosen for the back of the bus are parents and grandparents."

Particularly hard-hit will be elders from cities such as New Delhi, "which will see the number of its visas drop from 4,500 in 2010 to 2,500 in 2011," said Kurland.

Charan Gill of Progressive Intercultural Community Services was incensed at the apparent drastic reduction in the numbers of parents being allowed to emigrate from India.

"Already we have so many families waiting five, six years to bring parents over. Now people will die before they see their family in Canada," said Gill.

And while Asia/Pacific visa quotas are reduced overall, the city of Beijing appears to have been given an increase.

"That means there will be only 11,200 parents/grandparents come to Canada from China in all of 2011, but one in four of them will be from Beijing," noted Kurland. "Everyone else has to wait."

Johanne Nadeau, spokeswoman for Citizenship and Immigration Canada, cautioned that "the visa targets only serve as a planning tool to help allocate scarce resources, manage applications and minimize processing delays across a global network."

Nadeau said the "visa targets change from year to year" and are "adjusted as necessary."

It would be "wrong to infer from planning numbers how many people Canada will actually welcome in 2011," she said.

Nadeau noted that, in 2010, Canada "welcomed the highest level of permanent residents in 50 years."

-----------------------------

If the above is true IT SUCKS big time, in the news release in November it said that quotas have been increased for family reunification and now they are saying it's decreased drastically, I hope SPOUSE Visas are not affected with this, For Parents and Grand Parents it will be a 13 year wait now WTF sorry for being agitated but it really is bad, Canada is really tightening down the way it's allowing the immigrants.

Hope for the best folks!

Cheers;
Panda

Hi Guys,

It doesn't matter who you write to it doesn't make any difference. I alredy tried everything writing to the primeminister's office then Jason kenney's office no one gives a damn. It totally depends on your luck. I had mentioned before too that it's the reputation of Pakistan that messed up everything guys. There is so much corruption in that country that everyone gets scared, and God only knows what is going to happen next?
Abhi tow Allah ka yeh shukar hai ke spouse ko visa de rahay hain and they can't stop that just delaying is the only thing that they can do so people will suffer and there background checks are so damn long that i don't know how they will find out if someone is good or bad.

I am waiting for my husband to get his PPR as well, i sponsored him in Sept 2009 and he recieved his AOR in Nov 2009 and case process started on Nov the 14th 2009. It took me too fill out all my forms about a month but everything was just perfect we didn't miss any of the documents and the only thing took long was my husband's police certificates from three other countries other then Pakistan and that is also done like two months ago and now his file is waiting in the decision making officer's line. So i am wondering how long they are going to take for that. My husband's remedical and repolice report is done, it's just the PPR we are waiting for.

I feel that the reason the spousal processing times are longer now because of Afghanistan.
All the Afghan sponserships are going through the ISB CHC office.
I think they should handle all the Afghan files from the UK or DUBAI office's not ISB.
Not that I have anything against Afghanistani folks but because of the past issue's and problems which
occured there security measures have tightened for the residents there to immigrate in Canada and especially in the USA and UK too.
They should just process Pakistan National cases at ISB CHC.
