Hello there,

I'm just too worried and wonders if anyone here can help me out. I live in Pakistan and got married to a Canadian citizen in Dec 2008. My husband applied for my immigration in July 2009 and the file was sent to Canadian embassy Islamabad where they started processing it on 19 Aug 2009.

It is now Dec 2010 and no satisfactory response has yet been received though more than 16 months have already elapsed. Every time my husband contacts the MP there in Canada regarding the matter, he gives different dates telling us that your case shall be reviewed on that date but no such thing happened yet. Moreover, when ever me or my husband directly contacts the embassy to inquire about the status of application they just say its under process and in queue for an interview. It has already been 16 months. I ‘m way too frustrated now.

Last week when my husband contacted the MP again he says that the embassy has put away our file aside due to some security issues. I just dont understand what security issues could possibly be? I just want to be with my husband !!

can anyone guide me as to how long will it take more? what does security issues mean?

please reply me fast

HI Mareea,

Welcome on board!

I think your file is in background check process or you can apply CAIPS notes for accurate status.Did you submit your re medical or not?

Thanks

hey thanks for the reply .. :)

My medical got expired on June 2010 and the embassy never asked me for the medical examination after that. One more thing that i forgot to mention is that after 9 months from the date of processing, they asked me to send them more pics from our wedding honeymoon whatever .. that i mailed them immediately.

btw can you tell me what exactly CAIPS is? and what clearly beackground check means and on whom would it be?

Thanks for all your provided information. If they asked you more proof that mean they still not satisfy with your relationship but I hope I am wrong here.CAIPS provide you full detail regarding your current application status. Background check is a process where they can check applicant criminal and medical history.INSHALLAH I hope new year will bring good news for you as well as other forum members too.

Once they move the file into interview queue they don't inform the applicant about it until the date for the interview has been finalized. Its there normal practice.
Currently it is taking around 20 months for cases with interview so be hopefully INSAALLAH Soon you will be with your husband. Its not far.

Seems like your file is stuck in the background checks...Might be because they are unsure about something... here is how to order CAIPS.

CAIPS will only be issued to you if you are living in Canada. Otherwise, you have to have them released to someone living in Canada. For that, you need to ensure you sign and submit the proper authorizations.

You can just print the request form online at:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5563B.pdf

"Authority to Release Personal Information" http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5475E.pdf form. Include it with the "Access to Information Request" form.

Send both of these forms and a cheque for $5 payable to the Receiver General of Canada to:

Citizenship and Immigration Canada
Access to Information and Privacy Coordinator
Narono Building

3 years ?? :'( .. i just dont wanna wait that long ..:( .. Will CAIPS be of any use?

Dont know exactly why it took 3 yrs for them, may be security background check becuase her husband also stayed in USA before marriage.
CHC also asked for their two babies DNA last yr which they did provide and had interview also last yr. This is 2nd interview but She was very happy today that atleast they have got the 2nd interview and hopefully waiting will be over soon
