It would be like lucky draw competition when VOs choose a file to pick up for processing in PPR cases. Thats why someone get PP back with 3 weeks and someone 2 to 3 months.
So cheer up and be happy when someone get good news from CHC-I.
Our turn will also come In Sha Allah.
Enter into lucky draw (chc application) as early as we start to wear diapers and then wait for our lucky strike. when we reach 18 (years of age) Bingo: here comes the visa. Time for celebration!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

Can I extend my immigrant visa?

No, this visa cannot be extended. If you couldn't arrive in Canada before the time shown on you Permanent Resident Visa, then you will have to start the whole immigration process from the very beginning.

The most important point that people wishing to stay in Canada as a permanent resident must bear in mind is that the visa can not be extended, and nor there is any provision of issue of replacement visa with extended date. So, in situation when the permanent resident visa’s validity has expired, the person is supposed to apply fresh along with the processing fee. The new processing fee submission is an exception n case of a person who has paid the permanent resident fee.

However, if a person receives the visa with the validity of less than two months, then the new visa can be issued in case of need. In this situation, if the person is not able to make his trip before the expiry of visa, then the officers assists him in getting a new visa by re-issue of medical instruction.

So, it is of utmost importance to check the expiry date of permanent resident visa and make the departure plan much ahead of the expiry date.

Just like DONCARLOS SAID: visa of PR can never be extended. In case u pass this medical expiry date and not avail this visa, it will surely be expired and you have to apply again if you then wish to goto Canada
So either you can kiss the visa good bye for now and apply all over again or travel to canada & come right back after you get your immigration at landing. Which could be very next day. it all depends on your circumstances. Good luck.

it is kinda funny, someone gets it in 15 days and someone in 2-3 months...why would it happen? see, when you get passport request it means ur done....no more checks, no more docs...why would it take this long....something weird must be going on in CHC.

cause stupid chc ppl are unorganized!!!

I personally starts to believe that they have put people in CHC ISB who hate Pakistanis, so even when all this long process is done they still find a way to screw us and delay it even more by not sending the PP back. Logically when they ask for PP it mean thats visa is approved, otherwise why on earth they will ask for someone's PP ?

Is there any other country VO where this is happening ? How can an embassy keep someone's PP for 3 months? Don't they know it is a travel document ? don't they know that we are also human being like other and we may also need to travel ? Sound like conspiracy theory but there is definitely some discrimination happening.

US embassy was also use to do this even for visit visa,,in 2008 they kept my mom's passport for 6 month,,even she was 60+ ,,people was saying that its because of her saudia stays but its not reality my father lived in saudia more then my mom and he was doing job over there but they return my father's passport just after 6 days,,so i think they pick random PP for clearness
