medical is valid from the day its done... then the longer you take to submit the less time left on it, as you are wasting it by sitting idle...

its valid till 1 year, however, they now-a-days if view your file within a year can and do have the option to extend it to get your file through if its a straight forward case...

Im going through the same pain. I applied in Sep 2010 And they started the process on Oct 4th 2010. CIC-Islamabad asked for additional docs in Dec 2011 and a day later they asked for re-medical. Second Medical was done on 17th Jan 2012. Since then we havent heard any information. Ive been to my area MP numerous times since and all i get that ur wife's file is on security check. Ive told mp's assistance that 2011 cases have been resolved and if you want to talk to them, ive been told that she doesnt have any time. She will send another email to immigration and lets see what response she will get. Ive also asked for the notes and its been 4 weeks since ive received anything from them. MP have also told us to come after 26 months and after that they will see what can be done. When I applied, it was 18 months time limit and now its 26 months. God forbid if tomorrow immigration increased the time limit from 26 to 28, do we have to wait until 28 months are over ??????

I just got an update from the MP's office - nothing much has changed - the file is undergoing background checking - though she said that the first screening has been completed and they are satisfied with the results. To be honest I don't know what to think of that. Although it sounds positive, but when I ordered the notes in July it showed some details about security screening. So does that mean nothing has changed since June? it's hard to say because the last month when I got an update she didn't share this detail so whether it's new or not I don't know. I feel so down. It feels like everything the MP assistant says the waiting time is 26 months and you won't be expected to hear before July of next year, it feels like my heart is crushing into tiny pieces. I don't blame the MP assistant though - all she can do is tell me what she's being told. I have told her that on the forum there are people who get thier cases processed in 12-18 months and 26 months is rare. Any how feeling really depressed. When is this going to end?
