yes they will and you need to stay with your spouse atleast 2 years then they will grant you PR if you still married by that time it is same as in UK

2 years are not an issue because we sign on a lifetime partnership plan. But atleast they should give our spouses the visas.

Would you be okay if they give your spouse the Visa by this summer and then she would have to wait 2 years to become a permanent resident and then 5 more years to get the Canadian citizenship. Would you be okay with this scenario ?

I think its unfair for the people who are already waiting for more than an year. If they want to implement the temporary resident Visa then they should bring in new forms and complete processing them in 2 months, so the spouse could be here quickly.

Brother! It is already 20 months that I am waiting.

but when they will implement it will not effect all PR applications because when the time its implement they will fix date of implementation i think some of PR applications will be effect not the old PR applications

So both of you are waiting from July 2010 and would soon be in your final stages of immigration would be okay if you get the Temporary Resident Visa in 2 months instead of 4 months of getting a permanent resident Visa?

Interesting !!

Its been almost 15 months for me but I would be ticked off if after this much wait, they give my wife only Temporary resident Visa. If I have to wait 2 more months compared to the Temporary resident Visa, I would wait as I think it would made a big difference if you take overall time to become citizen. I am sure you guys are aware of the residency requirements in order to become citizens of Canada.

Yeah, they better not move the PR applications in process to the new TR visa category.
