My application is there since December 2010 and I did not receive any letter or information request from them yet.

The last step is the background checks. It takes about 15 days to 2 years max.

Yeah i've got the file number and UCI both on the sponsor approval.
What is CGSM?

I also got file number starting with F and UCI number in the approval email. But I send email to CHC I on October 4th for requesting file number. I don't know what I did????.

Currently processing July/Aug/Sep files. For December 2010 applicants they need to wait 2 more months before they hear an update from them.

In my opinion its done in TWO part, local & oversea. Oversea background check done by RCMP, CBSA and FBI. CHC provide your personal information to them and designated officers from these agencies verify your record in their database to see if they have anything on your name. If they dont find anything then they just initial and dated and send the response back to CHC directly or through CPC-M. This process start 1-2 months before initial review OR start at initial review. This process can be lenghty sometime if the request get stuck in any agency. If all goes smooth than it take 4-6 weeks.

If one has reside in a country more than 6 month then they check the background for that country also.

Local background check done by CHC hired agencies in PK where they use your PCC and your other personal info.

Medical is the last step whereas background check either done by the time medical requested or in process. Insha Allah you will hear from them this month.

No problem! I tried Wife is doing good, she is still adjusting with the templerature and the all, but we are both happy to be together. She misses her family ofcourse

I am more cautious about the booking date since they said attach reservation for 17/18/19. So we booked for 18th. Which I hope they will return back the passport before 18th.

As One2ka4 mentioned they are still working on July/Aug/Sep and earlier. I have also seen a few Oct2010 people receiving PPR now so thats good news!
