What would happen if my details were not printed correctly and I receive it by mail? Do I have to mail it again or I can go to the nearest passport office to correct it? Mailing an application is a nightmare, literally. Honestly all governmental services are a nightmare in Canada these days.

You should be able to step into the near by Passport Canada office to get it corrected.

I called them today as well. Requested to send back my citizenship certificate as I have an appointment coming up in a week to surrender my existing passport where I need to present it. They said my file has an ETA up to end of this month so I’m not getting my passport anytime sooner. :(
Did they agree to send you the certificate? They didn't give me any ETA for my file. I felt the agent was holding back info, because I asked if there is any issue with my application, she answered "so far nothing is requested". The answer was odd as I didn't ask if there is something requested. My suspicion is that my file is under rigorous scrutiny and possibly under secondary and even tertiary reviews because of my country of origin. Anyway, if you get your certificate, let me know. I would like to do the same if that's possible to do because I need to apply for a VISA and I may need the original to prove my status in Canada.

OK, although between what Passport Canada should and would do lies the devil. I hope they are at least diligent in entering my details. At this point I have little faith in whatever they do.

Did you put a travel date on your application? If not, probably they will put aside to collect dust, the dust your citizenship application didn't collect at the Montreal office. At the mark of 20 business days, file a complaint. Do not hesitate for one more day.
I think this is where I messed up. I didn't put anticipation travel date because I had none back when I applied on Feb 21. But now I'm expecting to travel next month.

Has your CC got charged? I did the same mistake. I should have put April 15th to limit their processing time. Now they think I don't have plans, and thus it's OK to put it aside possibly requesting more investigation and process other applications. I was basically told it may take 2-3 weeks more.

They sent email to the processing office requesting to send back the certificates so can’t say if they will send or not. I had to ask when I can expect the passport and the agent said they have up to end of this month but can’t say when the file will be processed as it’s up to the office and if no issues found I may get earlier.

OK, let me know if you get it soon, please. I think they should check the certificate, scan it and return the original right away. Just like they do at Service Canada

No my CC has not been charged. Has yours been charged?

Yes, March 14th. But it doesn't seem to mean much. I read someone's CC charged March 23rd, and received their passport March 26th. So, it all can happen at once.

Like many here I also failed to specify a travel date when I submitted my application by mail. The thing is my old passport was not close to expiration (still many years left). Would it be possible to call and cancel my application and have them send everything back? My CC hasn't been charged yet.

When did you apply? I didn't know you could renew your passport with years left in it. Were all pages full of stamps?

No, legal name change from marriage, had to apply for a new passport. I'm travelling in a few months, but worst comes to worse I can still use my old passport. And I figured if I ask for it back I can always apply again when I get my plane ticket, and hopefully I'd be able to get it rushed then. Long wait times don't sit well with me, especially when we're left in the dark like this.

If you are traveling in more than 3 months, I think you are safe.
