Cant indian students wait or defer their semester in the greater benefit of community? Just for their dreams they are risking life of so many people by coming through other routes.
One semester completed online, want to defer second as it is hard and complex to study online but University not giving that option. I understand they can't give that option as it might be revenue loss for them but it is what it is.
The quicker you finish, the earlier you will start to earn and work. Think about it like that. The opportunity cost of delaying a year for example is 1 year worth of salary, which could be anywhere from 30-150K depending on your field and experience
You shouldn’t defer if you have already started studying because then you meet the requirements for PGWP. Deferring your studies before you start your program is the only option. Think the university is trying to protect your future and not worrying about your tuition. Schools have much bigger issues.
The greater benefit can only be done by putting the Canadian visa offices into their place since the pandemic style visa processing is proving worse. NZ halted the study visa processing completely and had greater results. What's the point of approving visas and later banning travel, rather halt it completely at the source than setting out a false promise factory. Got to cut the problem at its roots.
Agree with that. Why Canada approve visa? Lots of our hard money is involved. There should be a way out. If they concern then let student come whose visa approve and strick complete quarantine system should be implemented.
Agree. They should just stop processing at source. Then, we would not have these complainers
Nov 2020 to Feb 2021 was the best time to enter Canada, after that it kept getting worser. Unfortunately COVID-19 will be around for a while. Sometimes even the essential helpers and complaint addressers may get consumed by the pandemic as tomorrow is never promised for anybody irrespective of their country.

I would go further to suggest shut down international travels completely... but there is question of Laws and potential litigation especially from Canadian citizens and Permanent residents
Finally some one said it. If they would've been completely honest that no we are not going to issue visa to any category (no partiality) and closing the border till pandemic is gone. No one would be suffering like we all are suffering as of now, neither in canada nor in other countries who has applied for their respective category of visa.
