Hi there, as far as I know the embassy doesn't contact you asking you to submit your application. You have to fill out all the forms, send it all in, and then they will contact your wife (at least in my case) to tell her she has been approved to sponsor you or not.

All the forms, the application, is online, so you need to print it off, fill it out, and follow the instructions for what you need to do. Did you fill out the application yet and start getting the necessary paperwork?

Best of luck!

Thanks for the reply
I would like to add that my wife is in Canada, she applied for PR as protected person, she included me in her application as dependent
she didn't received her PR yet, she is still in step1 but hopefully soon she will pass it (expected nex month), what i understood that the CIC should contact me in order to submitt my applications

Oh, I see. It's a different case from mine, as I am a Canadian citizen bored and raised, and my husband is Egyptian. So, from what I understand they should contact you to say whether or not you are accepted under her application? Maybe you will both find out at the same time? To be honest, I don't know much about this, so I don't think I can be of much help, but I wish you both good luck and maybe someone else on the forum can be more useful. :)

@mosaab, if i were you instead of waiting til the end of November to know whether the mp actually communicated or not with the visa office i would order my GMCS note and you might even be shocked that the mp is just telling you a story cos that has happened to me with my mp.

Hi Mosaab,
We actually just contacted our local MP for some assistance on this issue. I'd like to know how it went for you?

Parliament is prorogued right now, so that might be why people aren't hearing back from their MPs at the moment. Just a thought.

Hi bbccanada

I thought seriously about the GMCS , but as you know its was just 3 months since my file transferred to Cairo when my wife contacted the MP
some people here told me that the GMCS after 3 months , almost it will not be helpful.

at the same time, we went to the MP to ask helping , not because we want to know whats happened with file !

Hi CairoCouple

I imagined that this thing can happen only in the Arab countries :)

what does that mean , Will there be an election soon ? or it's just a temporary prorogued !!

No, there won't be an election soon. It just means that the current Prime Minister is abusing his power and that one or both chambers of the legislature have ended all legislative business until the governor general or lieutenant governor issues a proclamation calling for a new session of parliament to begin. So yes, it's temporary (one month is this case). This also happened a few years ago, by the same Prime Minister. It seems to be his way to buy time so he gets what he wants.

To quote the Globe and Mail:

"Stephen Harper has once again shuttered Parliament, proroguing the Commons until mid-October in a move that ensures he won’t face opposition questions on the Senate expenses scandal for an extra month."

Hi All

My family (Wife & daughter) is applying for PR in Canada, today the got the below letter:

This letter refers to your application for permanent residence, It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent resident
status

The overseas office in CAIRO is responsible for processing the applications for permanent
residence of your family members outside Canada.

Please note that application forms for your family members will not be sent by the mission. You
or your family members are responsible for obtaining and completing the required application
forms for all listed dependants, which must be sent to the visa office in CAIRO. The required
application forms IMM0008 and Schedule A for your dependants are to be obtained on the
internet at: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/menu-outside.asp.

I am outside Canada, and now i have to submit my applications to Cairo office, any advice?
is it only these two forms (IMM008 + Schedule A)? or do i have to submit my birthday certificate, marriage certificate as well??

Thanks in advance
