Well, I think you can only really ask your MP, since other ones do not represent you in Parliament. Like you, I also had the secretary respond to me. She contacted the embassy for me, but she didn't ask about my specific file, she just asked what was going on in terms of processing, given the strike and, at the time, the embassy closure. She was told by them that even if they embassy was closed, they were still working on visas. The other thing you can do is request your file notes. I never did that, but other people in this forum have, and if you look back a number of pages you might see how to go about doing that.
