my question in this applicaiton section is, what do they mean by eligibility? what have we passed eligibility for? and also is security something that they complete later on or with the criminality? Does this mean that they agree to the ligitimacy of our relationship? if so what's the hold up?

These deficiencies all apply to me and I have already been approved or found eligiable to sponsor, do I still need to correct them?

OK, I now checked the status of the file on the website and it changed right now to have the line "We started processing your file on September 18, 2013"
Does anyone know ho much time does it take in this processing??
And does that mean that the next move is asking for our passports?

It looks like you've applied for PR through the Quebec Skilled Worker program. If that's correct, you should be posting your question to the skilled worker section of this forum (not family class).

People here understand how applications are handled for Family Class. The processing steps for Skilled Worker are different.

I do not have much experience in ATIP maybe bcz i didn't make yet

but about the security and criminal they are Different things
almost you pass the criminal earlier the security , the security need more times
i think the are related to intelligence information !

i have a simple question i am sponsoring my wife to come to Canada i filed my papers and i got approved for that. Anyways my question is as following when i keep checking my wife status it says we started processing your application on may 13 2013. i wanna know if this means she is exempted from an interview or the interview is still applicable to her. "How much more time do we have to wait until we hear from them since here papers been in process for more than 4 months by now. In addition, it's been a year and half since i filed her papers to the CIC. Also, her medicals expired like a 6 months ago and they didn't ask for renewal regarding that. Plus i keep reading people experience here and some of them actually get the visa within a year and half. So i don't really know if there is something wrong with my papers and how can i find out if they are suspicious about my case or not.

Timeline since i filed her papers to the CIC

Paper received March 29 2012
Letter of approval Sept 12 2012
her papers in process since may 13 2013 "Cairo Visa Office"

medical and police certificate expired since 6 months ago

As far as I know, as long as your wait time (18 months from the day you got approved to sponsor) is still within what is currently posted than you just have to wait, but if you are over the 18 months you can contact them and ask. You will find out if you need an interview if they contact you and ask for one. Also, they can extend the medical exam results, but sometimes they ask you to re-do it. Maybe other people have direct experience with that? Also, they will contact her and ask her for her passport; that is when you know you are getting the visa. They contacted us via our lawyer last week and said my husband was approved (no interview) and that we should send in his passport so that they can put his visa in it.

Also, you can try to contact your MP and get them to inquire? I did that, and many other people have as well. Apparently you can also request your case file, but I don't know about that. Other people have done it in the past, so maybe someone else can comment about that?

Hi there, to be honest, I don't really know. We were really surprised when we heard back so soon. We were both prepared for a long wait, and I was even in the process of booking a flight to go and visit him. There was also someone else on this forum who quite recently got their visa, and it took them only six months as well.

Anyway, I'll tell you what we did, and maybe that can help? Firstly, we had a lawyer submit our paperwork, so I think it was really organised and exactly how the CIC wants it, so maybe that makes it easier for them? Also, my parents came to visit us in Cairo in Feb/Mar so we added this new information to our file. We sent in pictures of our family holiday, and had pictures of my parents and my husband together, etc. I think it's important to try and add new information to your file if you can. I really think that helps. For example, new pictures, but even copies of wedding cards people sent you. Anyway, things that can show your relationship is real, and that you are planning your life together in Canada. I also contacted my MP, and they inquired at the CIC as to the status of applications.

This is all we did. We might have gotten lucky, I'm not sure. We also made sure they knew we had a plan for when my husband arrived. I wrote a letter letting them know that my husband had been accepted in a school, etc.

did you consult your lawyer about your trip to Cairo , if yes , what was his advice ??
