In short Islam is peaceful. Islam is peace. In Quran you'd read;

53:38 (Asad) that no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear another's burden; [31]

35:18 (Asad) AND NO BEARER of burdens shall be made to bear another's burden; [15] and if one weighed down by his load calls upon [another] to help him carry it, nothing thereof may be carried [by that other], even if it be one's near of kin. [16] Hence, thou canst [truly] warn only those who stand in awe of their Sustainer although He is beyond the reach of their perception, [17] and are constant in prayer, and [know that] whoever grows in purity, attains to purity but for the good of his own self, and [that] with God is all journeys' end.

"Am I, then, to seek a sustainer other than God, when He is the Sustainer of all things?" And whatever [wrong] any human being commits rests upon himself alone; and no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear another's burden. [163] And, in time, unto your Sustainer you all must return: and then He will make you. [truly] understand all that on which you were wont to differ. [164]

17:15 Whoever chooses to follow the right path, follows it but for his own good; and whoever goes astray. goes but astray to his own hurt; and no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear another" burden. [19] Moreover. We would never chastise [any community for the wrong they may do[ ere We have sent an apostle [to them]. [20]

How do you send money from Canada? What are the options? and how much each costs? What do you think?

I've used MoneyGram (at Canada Post locations), I think it's slightly cheaper than Western Union, but they take about a 10% commission. A better option, if you know someone with a Canadian bank account currently in Egypt, is to send the money from your Canadian bank account to their Canadian bank account via an Interac e-transfer (internet banking) for $1.50, and they can withdraw the money from an Egyptian ATM for whatever their bank charges and pass it on to whoever the money is meant for. I also started to investigate getting an account with HSBC before I left Canada. I didn't end up getting one, but the advisor I was speaking to told me if I get their 2nd level chequing account, international transfers between those HSBC accounts are a $7 flat rate (much better than the standard $30 for international wire transfers).

Thanks ShamsuAnnahr, I am not sure how and where they would cash MoneyGram, Western union in Egypt. I don't intend to transfer a lot <$1000.
I do have a bank acount with Bank of America

Any other thoughts and ideas!

There are MoneyGram and Western Union locations everywhere here. Just do a search for their Egyptian locations online. Honestly you can't walk 2 blocks downtown without running into one, I know for example you can access MoneyGram at any Bank du Caire. Good luck!

Thanks I did not know if MoneyGram and Western Union are in Egypt, Do they work the same way as US? Do they charge more on the Egypt side or it is like Money order holds its value (the only charges are the ones incured here in Canada)? Sorry but I really don't know.

One more thing while reviewing posts for Ontarioer I found his wife is not Egyptian! I am very very stressed! I still hope we'll have better luck and faster processing time

first congratulations for the marriage
second, kashf altebi costs about 850 L.E or so.
third, you need to translate the marriage certificate in alshahr al3aqari I guess, as you are married to a foreign
and lastly, I am not sure if you can have the computerized marriage certificate if your wife is not Egyptian.
P.S I also had my marriage in the ministry of justice because my wife is not egyptian. And I sent it along with the translation, so u should be good I guess.

The money holds its value, at least with MoneyGram; they will tell you how much the person will be receiving after charging you the fee in Canada, and that amount stays constant. But the person will receive the money in American dollars, and need to find a money exchange place to change it into Egyptian pounds.

I do not know if you guys keep staring at waiting times! Trying to calculate if I am lucky I could have finished within 180 days. Why those who finish within that times?
Waiting times for CPC-Ottawa is 12months for processing 80% of spouses and partners applications

Hello Everybody,...I am so sorry we did keep you guys with our updates but the Cairo visa office sent my husband an e-mail on June 10 - 2012 that he has to re-do his medical and to pick up the new medical instructions for that,...my husband did his medical June 14 and they received the results in London June 22 or 23,.......they said in that email that ( Once the medical results are in,this case will be ready for visa issuance),.....and now it's 3 months since my husband did his medical,...So I need my husband here ,What should I do specially after I heard that the Canadian Embassy in Cairo are closed due to what's going on around the American Embassy which is close to the Canadian Embassy in the Same Street,.....Do you think they will take longer to open again or will take longer to give my husband which is already approved the visa so soon ??????
God Bless you all and for all of you to hear some great news so soon and for all of us to have a great life anywhere,....

Don't worry it will be alright? Just contact all CIC, embassy and your MP. Try to ask your MP.
