I recommend applying through regular process but not with border crossing procedure.
No need to pay any restoration fee as your work permit is still valid for 10 days.

Quick question - when you guys say that you got the approval for your BOWP. How do you get notified about the approval ?

Got email on 13th (and based on status in MyCIC it was approved a day before)

This is my situation...

I applied for BOWP and got response from CIC today that my application was refused. (Exactly 10 days before my current work permit expires)
Does anybody know if it is possible to go to the nearest border and reapply for restoration of status.

Based on the letter that i received from CIC

"You have failed to meet the eligibility requirements for a bridging open Work Permit because
you have not provided the letter from the province indicating if your employment is restricted or
not for the Provincial Nominee Program. "

I forgot to include the work permit support letter that i got from my SINP nomination.

My PR application is already in process and i am just waiting for the passport request.
I am just worried because i cannot afford to stop working while waiting for my PR.

Any advise will be very much appreciated.

Thank you and God bless

Reapply and include all the required documentation this time.

you will at least go on implied status and you know that the request is refused due to missing documentation.

I hope joolery doesn't mind me answering the question, but yes, we are both from a visa exempt country.

Correct!

Do i need to pay the restoration or not anymore since my permit is still valid for 10 days if i submit it tomorrow or do you think its best to go to the border for immediate processing?

Do not go to border with only ten days remaining on your work permit. they will deport you right away. you do not have to apply for restoration as you have a valid work permit in your hand. The date they wrote on the refusal letter does not matter as long as you have a valid work permit in your hand. Re apply immediately and you will be on implied status. Contact Your area MP to look into your PR case. provide complete documentation this time.

I submitted my 2nd application package today.
Canada post office told me that it will get there on Monday Jan 18. So technically, my permit is still valid by then.

Thank you for your urgent response on my situation, such a big help :)

This forum is really helpful, GOD bless everyone :) :) :)

I think you have to submit ONLINE application not paper so that you will get Application Number with that you can continue working in implied status. It is just my thought coz not sure if you can continue working even if you submitted paper application

My employer accepted the Fedex tracking slip as evidence of my application in 2014 for implied status.
