Decrease the quality of the scan. There is no other way. As long as you can read it, it will be fine.Doing the BOWP application on line isn't very easy. It asked for a bunch of document but when you try to upload them it says file is too big. Has anyone else had this problem and how did they get around it. My bf is going to try to compress the file but we are worried that this will make the quality very poor and that it would not be accepted?
For what ever reason that didn't work, we ended up taking out the document check list (I don't think it was needed anyway) and the last page of his original job offer (it was a long worded offer) we had included a letter of employment that he got today (that is usually as good as a job offer letter). So we weren't too worried about not having the whole original job offer letter.sf1234 said:Decrease the quality of the scan. There is no other way. As long as you can read it, it will be fine.

1. Currently, paper applications are faster. Of course, this can always change.AIW689 said:Hi everyone,
I currently have an open work permit (post graduation WP) which will expire in June. I'm still waiting for CEC and need to get a BOWP. Have some questions regarding the application and hope you could kindly help:
1. Did you guys applied online or by paper? Which way is more efficient?
2. The document checklist IMM5556 is showing that for work permit each applicant needs to provide "Offer of Employment to a Foreign National Exempt from a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) IMM5802 with proof of payment by the employer. Your employer should provide it to you." I thought for open WP we don't need an offer letter or LMIA. Did you guys all provide this when you applied?
3. Docs required for BOWP application: copy of passport, photos, IMM5710 and CIC's email showing your application is in process. Are these everything we need for the application? Please correct me if I'm missing anything.
Appreciate if someone could help asap. Thank you in advance

2. You don't need an LMIA. You don't need a job offer either. You basically apply for a permit for a "new employer", of course, you can stay with your current. It just means, it's open and you are free to go anywhere.
3. At best, use the online wizard and follow the steps. After the questionnaire, it will tell you exactly what you need to submit / upload.
If it says so on the requirements, yes. I never did a paper application for BOWP. The photo is not actually something they will put on your work permit .. I don't even know why they ask for it. But you also need a photo online today.AIW689 said:Thanks very much.
Do you know whether we need to submit photos if submit by paper?
Thanks for the infosf1234 said:I called CIC just now. The agent said my BOWP application just looks like its in progress. She agreed that the processing time has passed and she will send a note to someone for an update. I hope it will help.
(I applied online on August 22)
