Waiting for my PPR on a work permit! Hopefully it comes soon!

I'm on a work permit as well.
I got the generic response from Buffalo today saying:
"Your application is in process. We are unable to provide a date when the processing of your application will be complete."

Appears background check is over. I also just fired off a request for CAIPS just to see what the hold up is.

i don't know when Buffalo will start background check, will it check for all files , or only part of them ?

How do you know background checks are finished. I got email on Dec/23rd saying that they have requested background checks to other government office(s)....but nothing since then. I've been getting the same template email, still in process and we can not tell you when it will be complete....it is very frustrating..PNP did not help at all to speed up the process...at least I see it that way..

JPRAVELO got initial assessment in November and has his/her file in Buffalo. She/He recently got PPR on 01/21/2011.

Here is the timeline:

So True! I probably should've went back to my home country and applied from there. It'll be faster. I see more and more overseas people are shouting "yay ppr is here" I'm happy for them too but its so unfair that us who're already here are still waiting..help pnp advisers!!

I used to get the same email saying "We've requested background information ..." but yesterday's email didn't mention that and instead just said that the application is in progress. It's just an educated guess, not a fact.

I see, thanks Winnipegmb

No updates from my side:(...eagerly waiting for PPR...

In the circle that i am working currently, we were a bunch of people(nearly 20) landed in Canada and started applying for PR. The batch who submitted for buffalo before December 2009 i.e. nearly 10+ people, are all now PR holders... I applied to buffalo in Jan 2010 as specified earlier and still waiting for PPR :(...it been more than an year now that i applied.

Not only that, there were few more who applied after me i.e. In march 2010,amongst them, one of them received an email in Dec 2010, that the file is transferred to Detroit for processing. Last two weeks, that person received PPR request too...

I don't know why it is taking so much time for buffalo...if they can't process the request, why aren't they transferring the files to other embassies...this process is so irritating..

Holy cow! Thats one heck of a wait..Have you tried contacting the buffalo folks? I think their response is long overdue. The transfer of applications should make the process faster, apparently. I've spoken to some people that had their files transferred to other visa offices and they said that the wait after that were only days.

Winnipegmb - I am one month behind yours. Whats your latest development. Thanks.

True..i have also heard about many cases like that...I did mail embassy 3 times and got the same reply every time that my application is in process and cant determine processing end time.

I just checked Trackitt, and someone posted that they have been asked to come for an interview by Buffalo.

They were nominated under AINP (H1b). The person did medicals in March 2010 and received IA in July 2010, stating that interview has been waived.

What in the world is happening?

What kind of headache is this now?

Unfortunately nothing so far ... the last time I emailed (which was a few days ago), I just got a generic response saying that the application is in progress.
