Hi all,
Please reply/ give your thoughts

Our RPR fees check was encashed by Buffalo; does this mean that the background checks are all over?

thanks

hi, i was also submitted my pr application last dec 2009 and still haven't got any reply from them after they received my medical in october 2010. however, i didn't send any inquiry to them about the status of my application.. hopefully and prayerfully that we all will receive a ppr in february.. let's all pray for this..

i just wonder if people haven't got PPR but medical done in june/july /aug, file stuck in Buffalo , are they all already in Canada? I am one of them, so wondering if it is the reason Buffalo didn't transfer our file or approve faster?

Most of us are not in Canada. We are just the unlucky few who got stuck in Buffalo.

I am in Canada and I don't believe that is the reason, I have a colleague he was approved a year ago and he got transferred to Seattle office, I am not sure what's the criteria they use to keep/transfer the files. Also I don't think being in Canada or out also affects the timing, so it is very uncertain. It is the officer, it's the process, backlog in the background checks not sure... ::)

thanks for your sharing. If Buffalo is too busy, they should transfer more files to other visa office, going to 7 months that i haven't got any update from them after the medical check. The processing time is generally 11 months for Buffalo office but mine is going to 11 months, I have tried to send few e mails to them and asked the status, but everytime their responses are same.. " in processing. ".
by the way, superboy, have you ever received any letter from them after the medical check?

Yes, I got one after that. The initial assessement has been completed. In dec/22 I got an email back from them saying they requested the background checks from other gov. offices. The last email I think it was 2 weeks ago, I got an email stating they cannot tell when the process will be complete. I've been checking the bank and my RPRF bank draft has not been encashed. I sent anothe inquiry today we will see what they come up with.

do you think if people' file still in Buffalo office, they will all receive this letter?

Hi Superboy_ec
When did u send ur RPRF? Our file is in Buffalo and we did our medicals in July. We had a baby in between, and we did his medicals too. We sent the RPRF with his papers and got the receipt.

I just wanted to know, whether our file is stuck because of baby's medical update or because of something else like background check.
From your experience, is it correct in assuming that our background checks are over?

thanks

Ok guys I did a little bit of research.

I went to Trackitt forum and looked at their processing timetable for Provincial Nominees. I went all the way back to 2010 and late 2009.

I only looked at

1. applications processed at Buffalo and
2. the applicants received IA telling them documents were complete.

I noticed a pattern.

On average, most of the applicants that fell into the category above got their PPR five (5) months after receipt of Initial Assessment. I think we can use this information as a gauge.

I received my IA three (3) months ago (November 2010). So, I will just be patient and wait for the five (5) months.

Thanks
Jovan

if the time measure is accurate as well as the pattern I may be getting it by end of march or begining of april..based on that I received my IA in Oct/29 (well actually dated Oct/20)

Thanks for the information Jovan.
but what is it Initial Assessment?
is it the letter that tells that "we have all of the documents and if we'll need something we will contact you?"

the letter tells you that the initital assessment was completed and Buffalo office is going to finalize your application without additional document and interview asked.. something like that.
