Hi Yosemite,

Is it only for CEC application or all PR application? Because i wonder, last time when i applied FSW2 Category, in June 2011, i got my application returned stating to include Birth certificates for me & my wife.(which i dont have)

Then i read somewhere in the forum, guys get certificate of DOB from Embassy & included it. So i did the same thing & applied again in Aug 2011. Second time, my application was accepted & i received a positive Eligibility review my email from CIO-Nova scotia.

Now i have the scanned copy of that document i sent. Can i print the same thing & use it for my CEC application?

Or still you recomment to get an affidavit from a Lawyer? Please advice.

PR2012, Glowing Heart, Any suggetions please????

Thanks

Ram

Hi Ram,

My situation is exactly the same as yours..My application was rejected because they wanted 'Birth Certificate'. I got it from the Indian Consulate general and submitted the copy of it and it was accepted the next time. For CEC, am planning to just attach copy of the same and submit it..
The birth certificate document is something given by Indian consulate. Its a govt issued document and should be valid but not sure if there were any rejected cases where this document was not considered..If that was the case, my application too would have got rejected last time but it was accepted..So am going to try again..

Thanks

After the fact what yosemite suggested, let us not worry about spending may be $30 for a lawyer affidavit.

Let us get an affidavit also this time for CEC application. Also i am planning for hand written letter like slf declaration explaining why we couldn't able to produce the original birth certificates.

As yosemite told, it may be depending upon the visa officer @ CIO-Sydney, who is looking at you application completeness.

I do not want to give any chances to them to return my application.

Please enclose an affidavit. I have seen CEC cases which have been returned if BC is not enclosed or if Cert from CGI, Toronto is enclosed. CIC has clearly mentioned in the return letter that they do not accept CGI cert as proof of birth..as it is issued based on the passport and they do not accept passport as the proof of birth. You can chk the CEC forums and you will find this fact documented.

For FSw, I had not enclosed a birth cert at all...and I still got a PER. But after reading CEC forums I enclosed an affidavit with my CEC app...and my CC was charged...So dont go by what was accepted for FSW..Good Luck !

Hi Ram,

I just got a first hand information from of one my direct contact who had applied for CEC with a Birth Certificate from Consulate general and his application was rejected.
So yosemite is right- We will have to get the affidavit

Thanks to yosemite.

Does CIC cancle the FSW2 application or it continues to work on it. I am also planning to file under CEC category now.

Your other file will continue to be in queue for processing. Once you get any one file approved - you can withdraw the other application.
