Nope, there is no update. But I got my medicals yesterday from Ottawa ( my consultant got the mail from Ottawa)

A certificate issued by Indian consulate in toronto will not be accepted in place of the birth certificate

A certificate issued by Indian consulate in toronto will not be accepted in place of the birth certificate
for CEC. Grade 10 passing cert will also not be accepted. many applications have been returned coz birth certificate was missing. Please include an affidavit for proof of DOB. You can search the CEC forum..and you will find the format of the affidavit. Good Luck !

Is it only for CEC application or all PR application? Because i wonder, last time when i applied FSW2 Category, in June 2011, i got my application returned stating to include Birth certificates for me & my wife.(which i dont have)

Then i read somewhere in the forum, guys get certificate of DOB from Embassy & included it. So i did the same thing & applied again in Aug 2011. Second time, my application was accepted & i received a positive Eligibility review my email from CIO-Nova scotia.

Now i have the scanned copy of that document i sent. Can i print the same thing & use it for my CEC application?

Or still you recomment to get an affidavit from a Lawyer? Please advice.

Hi Yosemite,

Ram,

I suggest you get an affidavit done and enclose that along with your CEC application. I have seen that all CEC apps without BC or with the cert from Indian consulate, Toronto have been RETURNED and CIC has told them to get an affidavit done. So, I strongly recommend getting an affidavit done.

I have few more questions for you.

1) you applied for CEC in june right? have you got PER by now?

2) To get an affidavit can we get it from the MP's office, for me its the Hon. Minister Tony Clement. Will they do it? Is it accepted?

3) Also in the checklist what are the documents needs to notarised (certified true copies), beacuse duirng FSW, i rememeber i got notarised alomost 30+ documents (whatever i photocopied)

Oh boy, it does sound unreasonablly time consuming. I am on work permit and established my family here. I just hope I won't be torn from my baby and deproted when my work permit expires.....

Hey one thing though ( I know it may sound stubid), I haven't paid my RERF yet, since the letter I received with the Meds request did not check he payment request box. So I did not pay. Do you think it is the reason that my online status is not updated on CIC?

I don't think that's the reason why they haven't updated your status on your ECAS iamlindayoung. I haven't paid for my RPRF yet but my ECAS is already showing that they've received my medicals and that my files were transferred to Ottawa.

if its soon can you start working on a renewal I mean a LMO and then renew

Thanks a lot my friend. My work permit already expired and I got a new LMO and a new WP too. The new one is expiring in 1.5 years.

I called the local MP office and they suggest wait for eCAS to update, so that I will know where my application went. Then they can help me.

No..have not recd the aor yet...looking at the trend now its taking abt 3 and a half months to get the AOR. May applicants are getting their AORs now..so I guess I have to wait some more.2)

I am not sure abt the affidavit from MPs office...as far as I know you need to get it from a lawyer.

Really? I dont remember getting anything notarized for FSW. Only documents which are not in English or French have to be translated and notarized. Noting else.
