Buffalo to Ottawa Transferred Cases(FSW) - Pls join here

Hello all,

I moved from Ontario to Calgary and tried to change my address online for 3 months . But it didn't work. Now I have my received the forms for the medical exam and its still reflecting my old address. Does anyone have any idea what i can do about it?

I got my medicals done in second week of marh 2012. Then I recieved email from buffalo in last week of may 2012 asking to submit updated FBI certificates for me and my spouse. I sent the FBi certificates last week to buffalo but the package returned to me from buffalo with a letter saying buffalo consulate closed and cases transferred to cpp-ottawa.
Now where should I send the docs? or shd i wait for any response from CPP-Ottawa. I sent them emails and fax but still no reply.
wht shd i do??

I'm also waiting for any kind of communication from Ottawa with regards to where to submit the additional documents that Buffalo requested for. All we can do is wait.

I gonna apply for PCC this week.

I have quick question for you. I do not have my original birth certificate.

During my FSW application i got one from Embassy in toronto. I have scanned copy of that.

Can i print & use that this time, does it have any validity like PCC?

A certificate issued by Indian consulate in toronto will not be accepted in place of the birth certificate

for CEC. Grade 10 passing cert will also not be accepted. many applications have been returned coz birth certificate was missing. Please include an affidavit for proof of DOB. You can search the CEC forum..and you will find the format of the affidavit. Good Luck !

My case was also moved to Ottawa from Buffalo. I got an email with Medicals this week )) I have a question though, we have a newborn though. Should we do the medicals or wait until he is added to the application? Thanks

you should let ottawa know you have a newborn
and do whatever meds they need

where was the Baby born? if its in canada there is no need to add him

I sent my docs to Sydney in May 2010. I chose Buffalo cause I was in US at that time. I filed under Federal SKilled Worker. I left US last May so I am back home right now. My baby was born here in Tajikistan

So do I update all the initial applications and send them all? Or just specific forms where family members are mentioned? Email or Mail?

This is the reply i got when i sent an inquiry to Ottawa on my case

File Not Created YetDear Sir/Madam,

This is in response to your email (see below).

If you are an applicant with a file being processed by this office:

We will contact you with further information once your file has been processed. Due to the high volume of correspondence received, we are unable to provide a status update to you at this time.

No further action is required by you at this time. We thank you for your patience and for keeping your correspondence to a minimum.

For future reference, in all correspondence to our office, please refer to the applicant's full name, date of birth, file number and your client ID number.

I know this is the standard reply but what is interesting is the first few sentence which says "File Not Created Yet"

I guess for all the transferred cases they haven't created a file in their systems yet and is delaying the process

It probably means your file is not created in their system yet. I got this reply too but my file # was quoted on top:
File number: E0000

Dear Madam / Sir,

This is in response to your email (see below).

Your application is in process. No further action is required by you at this time.

We thank you for your patience and for keeping your correspondence to a minimum.

Hi guys,

My application was approved by CIO in April 2010 and they instructed me to forward my application to Buffalo in May 2010.

After almost 2 years wait, I received my medical request in April 2012, togeter with additional documents.

I gathered everything and finished up the medical exam and sent them out May 24, 2012. I checked Canada Post and found my package was delivered on June 1, 2012. However, Buffalo office was closed on May 29, 2012.

Here is the problem. I sent out my documents before the office closure and it was delivered after the closure.

I believe (or at least I sincerely hope) that in Buffalo there should be someone staying to receive mails and forward them to applicable offices (in my case it should be Ottawa). BUT I check my online status, nothing was updated - NOT EVEN "your medical results are received", or "your application is now transferred to Ottawa" or anything like that as other applicants mentioned above.

Anyone has similar experience?

Another thing is on the letter requesting for additional documents, they did not check the box of "paying Right of Permanent Residence Fee", so i did not include any payment. Would htis be a problem that holding up my application?

I got news today from my MP and its that my file is under the final step of the process and it should be done before the Jan 2013
it sounds like a lot but at least i have a date and he told me that thats a estimate it can be more or less so we all should expect something to happen in the next 5 months

Oh boy, it does sound unreasonablly time consuming. I am on work permit and established my family here. I just hope I won't be torn from my baby and deproted when my work permit expires.....

Hey one thing though ( I know it may sound stubid), I haven't paid my RERF yet, since the letter I received with the Meds request did not check he payment request box. So I did not pay. Do you think it is the reason that my online status is not updated on CIC?
