I will be travelling out of Canada by ending of November, as such, I need to renew my visa.
I was thinking of applying for the renewal this week. What is the probability of getting PPR
while my passport is in Seattle or Detroit for visa? How many days does cic expect one to
send passport to them. I am highly confused now!!

I am in the exact same situation and extremely confused as well. I hope Detroit gives 60 days to submit the passport because if it is 30 days, then someone(=me) is screwed.

I am going to wait this week to see if I get PPR. If not, I'll send it out on Friday.

I renewed my visa in August, i was in same situation back then.. but its not tough though.. I would recommend wait for this week, if no PPR then go ahead with visa application. If you guys are inland then i will recommend to apply in Ottawa, if you get PPR while your passport in Ottawa, you can contact CIC office in Ottawa explaining your situation and they will return your passport.

Guys...It's not a good sign for us all. Ottawa seems to not doing its job well. All other countries are super fast in processing applications. We can't even call Ottawa slow as they don't seem to even process applications. Tomorrow is a critical day. We must expect a few PPRs. Else, it's just anybody's guess.

Change in Ecas

From today, my ecas shows two addresses - Permenent Address and mailing address , though both are same

doesnt that mean anything positive ? does it happened to someone before?

Sent email to Ottawa to update address on Sept 18, and just notice that the address on ecas has changed. At least they are doing something.... hope we hear some good news this month!
