The all important Tuesday's here. Let's see if CIC dishes out some PPRs. Good luck to all.

Guys,

Have a look at the following release.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/releases/2012/2012-09-17.asp

doesnt mention PNP but I think in future they will intake specific number of applicants...like they will have a system by which you can check online if they are accepting applications during a cerain time period and then kind of reserve that period and apply......token system....

Under Admissibility, there should section of Security. Under the security there is Sub-Activity section, try to see what information it gives you, is there any Updated Date, Status, Security Screening Type fields blank or hidden. By hidden i mean there will be some marks left during hiding process. If you are not sure try to approach MP, i knew through MP and when i got GCMS, i compared it with old GCMS and i found the difference between security sections, this is how i got assure they are doing additional BG checks.

Hope it helps.

Thanks,
Affi

Hi Affi,

I didn't find anything different compared with the first GCMS notes:

SECURITY: 1 (Assigned to someone but all "Date" and "Status" are hidden)
Under SECURITY, there is "SUB ACTIVITIES":
SUB ACTIVITIES: 1
Created Date: 2012/05/21
Updated Date: 2012/05/21
Type: Security Screening
Status: Not Started (REALLY???)
Status Updated Date: 2012/05/21
Due Date: 2012/07/20 (The notes was printed on 07/30)

I couldn't tell if "Security Screening" is started or not, and also I don't know if the "SUB ACTIVITIES" is required for everyone. I think I will contact MP next month...

Thanks!

i dont think that affects our situation anyway.
we are not pre-2008 applicants, nor we are new applicants.

our timeline should be very close. except something extremely strange happens.

Looks like they haven't started security clearance on your file, as I said its not needed for everyone they usually waive this check for most applicants. Please double check with your MP

i am inland. though i am not in priority list. i am qsw. been here for 4 years now.
qsw tended to be much faster. but the transfers screwed up everything.

from applying, it has been 17 months. and medicals just about to expire, unless being extended.

but happy and busy for now

after Medicals if you have stayed in Canada there is no need to do medical again even if they are expire....

Well, I contacted MP and was told that the time actually starts once an application number is attached to your file, so technically I have been waiting for 12 months and the 6 months I waited for AOR dont count :D Anyways, I will be getting GCMS in 3 weeks so hopefully some updates then I guess! Any updates on your side? Contacted MP or GCMS?
Ok. No news/update from my side. I'm an April 2012 applicant. So, it would be unfair to expect anything this year given the long, unjust wait of you guys. Give us some good news ASAP.

if somebody delays his medical by month or so, does it impact hit processing timeline?

I would like to know the answer for the above question. mine is delayed almost 11 months and it is totally CIC's fault. They marked as sent in their notes and i never received it so far....

I have just received this disappointing mail from my MP office:

Bonjour Monsieur xxxxx,

hey Mohana,

I think all that means is your background checks are in progress still.......

the worrying part is that the transferred files have 1 year to complete in Ottawa...I mean thats the limit really....so most of the people should hear soon but this limit is too much.....they shouldve halted rest of the files and first processed buffalo transfers...giving Ottawa 3 months time to complete for applications which have everything ready....

What?! We need to wait another year!!! So that means for the people who got transferred on July. We need to wait for July 2013... This situation is frustrating. There is nothing we can do beside of wait.

I think this is generic answer that we are getting from MP's. I guess Ottawa was given one year time to clear the transferred files...
