Hooky player, 你好!

1. what day you got email from Detroit for PPR? Did they ask you submit employment history also? did you submit the landing fee in CA$ or US$?
2. DID your ecas show "medical received" and "we started to process your application on such day"? how long you got PPR after your ecase show medical received and in - process ?
3. did your address in ecas appear and disappear, appear again ... when you are waiting for your PPR? pls share your successful story. you are really fast. I am AINP, application received on feb 1 2012 at cio, AOR/MED on April 25, med done on may 2, waiting for next move.

1. i just got the ppr email from detroit this monday, they didn't ask for any extra things. when i first applied, i paid 1040, so processing fee plus landing fee together
2. yes, they are all shown, i got ppr approximately 1 month after medical results have been received; and cic started processing my case at the end of may
3. i never have had address on ecas, until buffalo shutdown, then my address, for the first time, appeared, then it never had appearing-desappearing thing, not as i noticed.

honestly, i don't think my case has any reference value for u, as u submitted to sydney, in 2012. if read more threads in this forum, u will find out every1's case is different. and ppl submitted applications in 2012 is also different from ppl submitted to buffalo.

hope it answered all u questions :)

I dont know what iN PROCESS means? Does it mean all documents and checks have been completed and the PPR needs to be issued only?

i think it means the cic now start to check ur documents, security etc.

in my case, maybe cuz i have been living in canada for 8 years, and i didn't travel too much (except for the states, but none of them was longer than 2 months). my security check went thru quite fast. so i got the ppr right away?

remember some ppl after they got their GCMS notes, they said the cic didn't even open their file since XX date. i guess it was because the file was in queue to be processed. and when it is ur turn, cic officers start processing ur case, and u get "in process". of course sometimes mistakes can happen, leaving some applicants waiting for too long due to the fact that visa officers tend to have bad memory when they r busy.

thanks. I may go with Ottawa as i feel more relaxed sending my passport there ;D

yes, u should go ottawa, cuz ottawa just got this new service, so there won't be too many applications on the desk, u may get ur visa within a week!

my experience from cic is every time when a new office is setup, or a new service is open-up, it will be fast, then getting slower little by little.

I dont think Ottawa can stamp your passport, it still has to go to detroit for stamping! Ottawa just processes the file and sends to detroit when stamping needs to be done!

no, he was asking about the temporary visa like visitor visa kind of thing. not pr

i think after buffalo got closed, ottawa now can do temporary visa for ppl living within canada, but i haven't done research on it.

u haven't emailed detroit, rite? email them, make up some reason. so they might tell u that u file is in detroit, or if not, they might tell u exactly which office has it.
