PS It appears that at least two of us received a reply beforehand saying Case is well advanced... Medicals extended... expect to hear in several weeks. Finalize in several months So CIC seem to be doing well of late. At least I am in a mood to say congrats to them !

Will still update this forum when I receive GCMS

ECAS still only says

Being afraid is not an option if one aspires to immigrate to Canada, is it? You didn't mention the # of layers btw. ;)

OMG sharuu. Big congrats!! It's great to hear that you finally got PPR. :)

It's been a while since I visited the forum. I was trying to avoid thinking about it as much as I could.

But here I am again. :P

I wanted to know what's going on my application before visiting my family for holidays.

So I contacted my MP yesterday to check what's happening.

He told me to contact him again if I don't hear anything from CIC in 4 months. It's been 4 months and no news from CIC so I contacted him again.

Unfortunately, they haven't touched my application for the last 4 months. But the good news is that Ottawa is currently working on files dated April of 2011.

I hope that I will hear something from CIC in the first quarter of 2013!

It seems Ottawa is working hard to issue PPR. So hang in there and be optimistic. You guys should hear something soon too.

Finger crossed!

Is there an order in processing files? How does Ottawa pick an application from the pile of 9000+ applications which were transferred from Buffalo to Ottawa. May be it's random and it doesn't matter if you applied in Dec. 2010 or April 2011 or Sept. 2011. It's a matter of luck I have come to believe.

I don't think there is any particular order in processing files. It depends on many factors I think. My understanding of Ottawa working on files dated April of 2011 is that they open up the files applied in April of 2011 and see what can be done then pass it on to someone or some department or whatever so that it can be processed for that particular task or assign a new due date or something. So they are doing something. Having said that, honestly I don't know much about it. I just like to believe so that I can be optimistic that it can be done sometime early next year. :)

My apologies if I gave you or anybody here some confusion. I was too exited when I read my MP's response so I thought I could share.

I don't think there is an issue named order in CIC.
I simply think it is on a random based selection to keep everyone quiet.

The only good thing is that we are seeing more and more PRs recently.
I don't trust MPs; they are also trying to keep things calm.

Its better to have Chance...
I am an April applicant, and my file has not been even touched since arrived in Ottawa office. this means no Officer assigned, and it means, I dont really expect something very close. maybe a miracle.

:) But I keep myself happy. I hope all my friends here and there, get the good news in a timely manner to suit their needs.

It is totally OK seulkiro.
We all need Excitement at these hard times. It is good to keep ourselves hopefull... and optimistic.
It is good to hear from folks around.

best wishes for you and nima

It's OK Pal. You would not have to apologize for any thing. We don't have to be politically correct in this forum and we like it this way. In fact, it is important to share information in this forum so that we can find out if statements made by the MPs are correct and agree with other information in our GCMS notes.

Thanks hmdlsd.

Yes, it sucks there is no particular order in processing files. My MP might have lied just to make me calm. Who knows.

But like hmdlsd said we are seeing more and more PRs lately which is a good thing.

I like to think in future when I lived in Canada for a while after getting PR thinking back on the past "That was horrible experience but man was worth waiting!" :)

Stay warm guys.

It's all good. I might get another GCMS just to verify what my MP said. I'm sure that nobody touched it for the last 4 months though.
