i believe they wont refund the fees and you can withdraw the application anytime you want before it gets processed obviously.

Guys, one of the worst days of my life!

My Extension for BOWP got rejected today.
i have applied for my PR in Jun 2014 under CEC.
I have received AOR in Aug 2014 based on which I have got a BOWP which expired in Sep 2015.
I have got MR in Feb 2015 and finished Medicals in March 2015.
In Aug 2015 I have applied for Extension and today they have rejected it.

I have a decent job, I am renting a Condo, my Car and all my stuff and I have to leave Canada all of a sudden. Seriously ?

Hey,
As far as I know, CIC will not send Medical Request unless Eligibility is passed. In your case, you already received MR and even as per new rules also you should get it. What else they need?

i think medical department works separately. moreover, the reason for rejection, i don't know what exactly they mean ,

HI, my BOWP got refused as well :-( What is your next step ? Is there any way to challenge the decision ?
Maybe we can appeal but I didn't try yet. Maybe tomorrow I try. You don't need to leave canada because we have 90 days to apply for restoration. I have 3 option on my next step, visit visa? LMIA which takes too long to wait or else study permit.

Hello,
As far as I understand you are 2015 Express Entry applicant not 2014 CEC, right?

I have a feeling that there were issues with his application which CIC discovered after sending out the Medical Request. Best way to check would be for him to apply for his GCMS notes and see what they say. This becomes even more evident because most other June 2014 applicants have received PPRs etc. Also, other applicants who applied around the same time as him (early August) have had their BOWP applications approved(even after December 1st when the rule came out).

Also, in the link below, CIC clearly states that if the completeness check has not been performed, your BOWP application will be held (put on hold). However, if your PR application that you submitted is found incomplete, only then will your BOWP application be rejected.
If anything that I have mentioned above does not apply to his application, then there is extremely high chance that the Visa officer made a mistake.

HI ,

Are you sure that CIC doesnt send medical request if the eligibility is not passed?
I am sure why they did that. I have passed the medicals in Marc 2015.

Also the question is If my PR is not approved then why did they issue BOWP in 2015.

HI are you sure it is not necessary to leave Canada immediately ?
Is it like I have to leave within next 90 days or apply for restoration right ?

HI Guys,

I saw this in CIC's website:

The positive eligibility assessment is considered to be made once the status of the Eligibility field in GCMS is set to “Passed” (or “Met” for FSWC applications submitted prior to January 1, 2015) and an Acknowledgment of Receipt letter or email has been sent to the applicant.

Applicants applying for a BOWP must include a copy of their Acknowledgment of Receipt letter with their open work permit application.

For all those who have got their BOWP approved, is the Eligibility field in the in the GCMS notes of their PR Application set to "passed" ?
