BOWP - How many of you have applied and received it successfully?

wtf...how did they managed to trace your application?...usually by phone the officers don't answer anything like that!...did you give them your UCI number?, your PR file number?

And the 6 weeks stuff...wtf!!!...did they tell you why?....I thought that usually what delays the process the most are the waiting time since your application arrives and the officer has a chance to see it. For my past work permits I can clearly see that my date of issue usually is 1 week before I receive the permit on the mailbox at home....so 6 weeks seems wrong to me....maybe this is the issue that is on stake during the strike....maybe the officers on strike are in charge of printing the permit, put it on an envelope and send it back to your home?

They do give you the status of Work Permit/Study Permit stuff over the phone. They just can't change the decision. If it's for PR, they can only tell you where your files are. In my case, it's at CPP ottawa.

In the BOWP application, I wrote a Cover Letter with UCI number and CEC file number.

And 6 weeks is a joke...

My actual situation is
1. AOR received in Mid May for CEC
2 Current WP expires Oct 31st, 2013
3 My current employer is preparing an offer of permanent full-time position since Nov 1st, 2013

Therefore, I'm looking into the Bridge WP application and would like to apply for it recently.
My Question: shall I submit the new offer during the application of the open Bridge WP, even if it seems not necessary?

"It might take up to 6 weeks for you to received."
I laughed...

I applied for BOWP on June 9 . but still no replay from CIC. Have you got ant Email or any message to My Cic account.

If we select the option for extend with same employer when filling the forms does it mean it is as good as closed permit? Also does the permit comes with condition like allowed to work for only the employee which is mentioned in the forms
.Any inputs would be very helpful

Not at all. That's why I called them.

And I asked them on the phone that if I'd get any email notification and they told me it might just be delayed but I guess "NO!"

Is it possible to get BOWP if the current work permit expires april 2014.. I had got a two year work permit but the company has shortage of work so they let me go.

My CEC is applied in july 2012 still waiting for PPR but I need to start working. since I have a couple of offers.

Please help if this is even possible.

BOWP approved today!!!!! Wooooooohoooooooo! ;D ;D ;D ;D

I just got a really good job and I was soo anxious about receiving my new permit! Such relief!!!
I applied online June 10th. I didnt receive an approval email yet, but I decided to check My CIC account anyway, and ofcourse there was the approval msg sitting there waiting for me. It was dated for today, July 10th.

PR application filed April 5th
AOR received May 16th
Applied online for BOWP on June 10th
BOWP approved on July 10th, valid until July 5th 2013

(Current work permit was due to expire August 26th)

That's not true. Mine was submitted on the 8th of June and they approved it on July 8th...

I guess u guys were lucky ;D The call center agent checked my application and said it was not processed yet, and that they were still processing apps from June 6...
