Hi Guys.. Looks like the VO in Bogota is moving faster than I thought :). My wife got an email with the AOR from the VO yesterday. Hope, this is a good sign. As far as I know, she should be getting the stickers and background check requests soon. We were actually prepared to wait 3 to 4 months before hearing from VO in Bogota.

In this case, canadasoon2013 won't be able to submit a police certificate from Germany yet because he hasn't been there for 6 months yet. But I can guarantee that CIC will ask for it once he has been there for that length of time. So for now, the application should go in without that particular police check, but he should be prepared to get it as soon as requested. Start doing the research now so that he can get it done quickly once requested! Funny, I haven't seen him on here since his first post....

Hello cunnington. Here I am. I had not showed up since that was the specific question I had. I emailed immediately the Visa Office in Bogotá the very following day. I let them know I was here on an exchange program, that all my contact info and studd was active in Colombia and that I was ready to provide medical exams, any document they have as well as to Travel to Colombia if the interview were required.
You made me worry about this thing about the Police Certificate. I understand the point of the 6 months that have to pass by so that they require this certificate. I have the big question now as to whether the Visa Office will say: "He is in Germany, he is staying there until December, he will need a Police Certificate and so we will store this application for at least six months or until he comes back. What if we need his passport?" do you think cunnington that the fact of being here DOES affect me? Additionaly, I see you posted on another applican's post that the Police Certificate, to be received in the office, takes 6-8 weeks!!! I understand they will ANYWAYS ask for the Colombian one, right? I am really concerned now that they may start delaying my application. Or will they just keep on processing it and will ask for the required docs when the normal processing time comes???

I appreciate your big help. Thank you so much!!!

Hello guys,

I have applied for my PR within canada under the CEC. I already got my medicals done and actually the status in ECAS shows medicals received. Nevertheless I still have issues with my colombian police certificates. I made the deposit to risk management and sent the copy of the slip to aplicantes @ procesosec.com and the CPP-Ottawa. After 9 weeks I contacted Ottawa office and they replied saying that they have not received any police certificate from colombia yet. I sent an e-mail to risk management asking for the status of the background check but not answer at all. Have anyone gone through the same issue ?? is there any way to get a confirmation from Risk Management ? at this point I'm about to request the GMSC Notes.

I appreciate your answers.

Hi guys, I got my passport request today as my visa is ready ;D. My question is do I send money so that they send the passport back by mail. I'm using fed-ex and I'm just not sure if they carry with the cost of sending it back.

Hi guys,

Update on my case.

Today I got my passport request stating that my visa is ready. As of today it took 10 months 4 weeks and 1 day since the day we submitted our application. I should be expecting my passport soon since I mailed it off today. I also had to apply for an ARC and according to the time it took us 2 months for them to process it. That also puts us at less than 17 months.

Congrats Dany_y28.

The total amount of time that you describes includes the processing in Mississauga or only in Bogotá?

Great news!!! Congratulations!

Thank you, and yes it includes the processing time in Mississauga.

And I forgot to mention they did not ask for an interview, and I was a failed refugee claimant. I'm sure everything goes on how real your relationship is and the proof you submit. Quality not quantity

Congrats Dany_y28, that's great news. I'm really hoping our application gets processed in less than 12 months.

One question guys.. How long does it take to have access to ecas after receiving the AOR from the Embassy? I can access mine, sponsor, but cannot access ecas using my wife's UCI or her application number.

Wowwww!!!! That was ally fast!!! And yeah, you are right. Quality, not Quantity!!! I am glad, too because our application was really complete and coherent, too. Hope it goes as fast as yours :D take care ;)

Today Ecas showed Decision Made. Hoping to get CORP soon!

Got letter approving sponsorship today! Happy for some initial good news. Hoping the rest is smooth but not too fast! They received application March 4th, so April 2nd seems pretty good.

To canadasoon2013

it is very simple, --you need to provide police certificate from ANY country you have lived in for more than 6 months !
if you do not want to cause any delay, you need send them as soon as possible

Day One starts tomorrow just got everything in order and will be at the post office first thing. I found this forum very helpful pretty much answered every questions I had and we believe we should be enough to have a successful application. Only thing we did not do is the medical yet we are waiting until the application to arrive in Bogota just to ensure we dont have to get them renewed if it goes past the one year mark. Thanks for all the help everyone... fingers crossed and hope all goes well
