Hi everyone!
My wife and I (the sponsored spouse) are really excited since we have starting to go through a fast process. It seems the embassy is moving faster than usual and so we have been contacted by them really often and in little time. We sent our application on November 19th, 2012. Then, 3 months later, as it corresponds to the processing time for the Sponsor, my wife was accepted. This was on February 23rd. Then, 4 days later, on February 27th, I received an email from the Bogotá Visa Office, stating that they had received my application. However, checking my eCas, it didn't mention anything about it being processed. I was notified by my e-Cas tracker by an email. I checked it and it stated that my application had been opened and started to be processed.
Then last April 12th, 2013 I received an email asking for a translated copy of my military card. We had it sent right away. Exactly a week later, last April 19th, 2013, I received another email which had attached the model of the receipt to pay the fee for background verifications from Colombia. We also had it sent right away. My wife read that this step is highly positive and shows that the process may take shorter time. We are really excited! Can anyone, specially those who already obtained the visa, tell me if this step may be close to the final one? I know it has been little time. But our love story backs up to almost 10 years of relationship! And my wife has been in Canada since 2006. On may 15th it will be 7 years since she left. Although she now comes often, we are looking forward to reaching soon a happy ending. Any comments, welcome!
