Bad news for Aussies PR in Australia. Govt of Australia also revised their citizenship from 3 - 4 years technically (it went to 7 years wait)

.......
S

Fake news. Still 4 years out of 5 years. It's been so for some years. They get usually processed in 4 months. Now Immigration office is cutting staff and this is supposed to increase the waiting time for all sorts of applications, including citizenship but at the end of the day, Australian PR holders still receive their passport sooner than Canadian counterparts.

Ehm, so I assume you want to be a citizen one day. In that case I would encourage you to inform yourself about the political system in Canada.

....

There are many members of parliament that I do not agree with on many if not all political issues. And there are others with whom I agree with a lot. But no matter what side of the aisle they sit, I respect them for the immense amount of work they do. If I were an MP and had to read bulls**t like yours, I would be insulted and rightfully so. Because the vast majority of MPs works their a** off (see above) to get anything done in this political melting pot that is Ottawa so that you have a better life.

Also, don't boldprint your whole post, it is rude according to every netiquette that was ever written.

You just won the internet - excellent post.

Hello man this is not Australian forum...you should know where which thing should be discussed.....you would better buy a ticket for Australia ...and go there and do you

You are in A Canadian forum. We don't care.

Hey...Canadians pride themselves on being polite...so whether you're a citizen or a PR can you rethink how what you said can be considered rude?

Also, we should care about what is happening in other countries, especially commonwealth countries as it can influence what happens in ours. A lot of the crap in the world today is happening because people don't care about what's going on beyond their nose.

Wow, I came here looking for information/discussion on what happened in HoC regarding c-6 this week. Instead, I see people being supremely rude (I'm talking about you, bold-font person) to each other on unrelated matters. Anyway.

Any mention of c-6 during the HoC sessions this week? We have less than a month before the summer vacations start. I'm really hoping they get to it soon

Here we go again with personal issues. I was not being impolite to the person, I was against any news related to other countries especially false information. Care whatever you want about other commonwealth countries but use Aussie forums, new thread, or your personal twitter. We do not care because this will redirect the discussions to Australia while our focus should be "CANADA".

Probably a moderator should say this, but:

I know we are all impatient but could we maybe make it through the rest of the week without people being angry or judgemental or rude to each other? (I'm not looking at anyone in particular here, I mean this in general)
Have you noticed that these kind of posts only show up when parliament isn't in session? Seems like waiting is bad for each of us's psyche...

Best to ignore this thread when parliament is not in session. It gets toxic very quickly.

Correct, waiting without any progress on the bill from the parliament/government, and at the same time without being able to do anything from the individual side is very frustrating.
