Bill C6 is clearly dead. Stuck in Senate 8 months and not seems any improvement still. Huge disappointment..

I think that that's being a bit unfair. C-6 officially entered the Senate Chamber on June 17th last year, at its First Reading by Sen. Omidvar, so that's now coming up on ten months ago. And when the Senate isn't sitting, it's not as though the senators and their staffs are all off on "vacation" at all; they're supposed to be working on preparations for the next sitting, as well following-up on things arising or consequent upon past sittings, committee reports, etc. As one who's also affected by this Bill, I can certainly understand the anger & frustration on here concerning C-6, but if Omidvar & Jaffer et al. are indeed 'flogging a dead horse' and have yet to realise this, then we'll all know soon enough.
A couple of things:
If the conservatives thought this wouldn't pass the vote - they would have voted already. They know it's going
To pass, this is exactly why they are delaying it.
If the libs thought it wouldn't pass, they wouldn't be as confident publically.
Cons are playing games - pure and simple !

Some of the independent Senators have been appointed by Conservative Prime Ministers.
Still "the Conservatives", as the caucus that is currently delaying, hold 39 of 100 non-vacant seats. That is far from a majority.

- the official representative of the Liberal Government in the Senate
- the sponsor of bill C-6, Ratna Omidvar
- the proponent of the amendment, Elaine McCoy
- many Senators who have been appointed by Liberal Prime Ministers.
Please also compare the list of Senators (can be found on Wikipedia) to the list of people who voted in favour and against adjournment this Thursday. You will see that many independents vote with the Senate Liberals.
Also note that the Senate Liberals are - as of 2014 - not even affiliated with the Liberal Government or the Liberal Caucus in the House of Commons anymore.
