you are welcome. Remember I said "expectation". Afterall we are dealing with the government and if there is one thing they do well, it is that they take their time to do it.aries9811 said:Thanks for explaining in simplified way!!! @_MK_ !
That's reasonable because only two weeks left for Senate sitting in March, and only two weeks sitting in April.subha_1962 said:And Senator Jaffer hopes that it will pass by May

Yes for sure. Completely another matter if it will be implemented in 2017 though. I am still hoping July but likely Jan 2018.Need Canadian Pr said:do you it will pass by 2017 end
Any particular reasons you think the bill will be done only by Jan 2018? Why Jan? It's pretty much a year from now!_MK_ said:Yes for sure. Completely another matter if it will be implemented in 2017 though. I am still hoping July but likely Jan 2018.
There is a difference between the bill *passing* and being *implemented*. The bill may pass in the next few months, but it won't be in effect till it gets implemented. I think the forum member was talking about it being implemented by Jan 2018, meaning new application forms available.Varangian said:Any particular reasons you think the bill will be done only by Jan 2018? Looking at similar bills' life-time in Senate, I'd say the third reading and the royal assent don't take that much time.
Implementation depends on which clauses you are referring to. Most clauses would be implemented immediately after it becomes law. The only one that might take time is the 3/5 rule due to the systemic changes required to accommodate it.razerblade said:There is a difference between the bill *passing* and being *implemented*. Well, I hope implementation is faster. Especially given they just need to revert it to the already once established system of 3/5 yrs. The 4/6 took a year to implement probably because the entire process had to be defined from scratch.subha_1962 said:But the Minister said yesterday that they have already started the process of reversal of the revocation of citizenship of the terrorist who lost it. So I too think that implementation will be way faster than people think
