So if child born abroad to Canadian Citizen who is not serving crown wouldn't be eligible to pass citizenship to new born?

i am not a frequent courier user so I didn't know. I am preparing a new application set now. That means the application I signed on June 17 will be voided, whether delivered or not. I just want to make sure a thousand times that an application signed and dated today June 20 will be accepted for processing under old rule for residency requirement (3 out of 4) and pre-pr count.

I hate Purolator for life!

Did the tracking show that someone has received and signed when receiving your application?

Its good news. My wife will be eligible to apply in Mid October according to old law. We don't need to wait 1-year more to apply. :)

GUYS AWESOME NEWS TO EVERYONE.

FROM THE GOVERNMENT WEBSITE:

http://news.gc.ca/web/article-en.do?nid=859509&_ga=1.139675899.97878150.1393792084

THE BILL WONT NEW RESIDENCY REQUIRMENTS WONT BE ENFORCED UNTIL A YEAR LATER!!!

Citizenship applicants will need to be physically present in Canada for a total of four out of their last six years. In addition, they will need to be physically present in Canada for 183 days per year for at least four of those six years. These provisions will come into force in approximately a year.

Not guaranteed.. but most likely, as they state approximately 1 year.

Congrats people. My situation is still uncertain though. Even though I am in Canada since 2009 and got my PR on Sept, 2012, under the old-rules I will be legible to apply only on June 01, 2015 (because of large absences due to work). Do you think I still have a chance? Do they take into account 'date received' or are they going to simply check if the application meets the requirements by July 2015 -is this a definite date, by the way? Many thanks and congrats again.

The central attention of late evening CIC notice yesterday lies on this sentence: “These provisions will come into force in approximately a year”

Thousands of people have been looking for this assurance. If they announce it during the bill stage I would imagine there will be few to none petition supports, and the opposing voice won't be that strong. After all people care for their own interests first. At least CIC has done something good eventually.

Congratulations to those PRs who are close to submit their citizenship applications, at least by the end of 2014. Good, some PRs got some relief.

No under the current laws it can be passed to first generation

I'm sorry if I've missed this somewhere, but what happened to the new fees that were supposedly being introduced? Do these not take effect for a year as well, or are we looking at the possibility of applications being sent back, and additional payment required, as happened the last time?

Fee wasn't changed. $400 since February 2014.

Thanks, my mistake, I thought they were increasing them a second time.
